She left the house late at night. The words spoken in the Den yesterday afternoon stung like an icy wind in a bare tundra. She knew he had been unfaithful again. She needed no words to know this. His actions spoke loudly as did the laughter from the barmaid. She came to the bridge and stared deep into the void.
She thought back to the day he turned her. She had accepted his gift. Welcomed it even. He taught her everything she needed to know about what she had become.
The image of her children flashed in front of her. Dani, Zet, Ethan, Lowell, and Zari. They did not have a perfect family and two were lost already. But they were her children. Hers...and his. They would be well with him. She had no fears.
A single tear drifted down her cheek as she looked back toward the road leading to their home.
He had betrayed her, once she knew for sure. His actions as of late let her know it had happened again. She would not be humiliated further. He wanted others and she could do nothing to stop him.
....And so she wouldn't.
She climbed over the edge of the rail of the bridge and sat hovering above the void. Closing her eyes, she whispered a soft goodbye....and let go....
...the edge of her robe catching and ripping as she did... _________________ Shifters of Sosaria |

Holding in her hand the cloth Merci stared down at it, lightly she took in a breath of it the scent of another female Lycan hitting her nose.
She pondered she was bemused she was not handling this as she had expected. Her ussual chill ebbing a bit. She was uncertain what to say or do. She said things but nothing of great encouragement or of sad heart. They were just words that fell from her lips.
Well this much is certain she is not dead therefore no funeral will be held. She may return and she may not.
With these words Merci lifted her face to the sky and her throat swelled with the song of the wolves a howl long and clear blasting across the bridge. It was an odd sound coming from the tall warrior woman but almost as natural as the chill upon her bones.
When she is ready we will be here... _________________ May destiny guide you... |
