After recovering from food poisoning from eating fish that had not been cleaned and prepared properly, Thomas finds the strength to make his daily journal entry.

Journal Entry -

1. Hypocrisy is like bad fish, both smell foul and leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

2. One must meet in Secrecy only when One has something to hide.

3. In nature there is balance, Life and Death, Good and Evil, Light and Darkness, Right and Wrong.

4. Without one, there can be no other.

Thomas throws down his pen and rushes to the privy, thinking to himself "make an entry to remind yourself old fool, never eat fish while suffering from a cold. Never eat fish that you can not smell first."
