The Warden stood within the barracaded Minoc. Looking at the body that lie in permanent rest at his feet. The dood of his dark green robe was pulled over his head, hiding his saddened face.

Mourners had brought flowers for the body of perhaps the bravest old elf that Eldan had ever known. One willing to lay his life down, one willing to sacrifice for the good of the North. A man that charged into battle, knowing full well what would happen.

The battle prowess of this Human from Vesper was irrelevant in the Warden's eyes. He was a brave, selfless and honorable elf. He gave his life for the freedom of the North. Eldan would honor his death justly. This man's noble sacrifice would not be in vain, and those who took him would pay for their sensless emperial march across these lands.

In the moments during the initial attack on Minoc, he charged headlong into the Dark ranks, knowing his fate. Eldan could still hear the battle cry in his mind, and the sounds of the Dark Order murdering.....a bartender.
They lie to those they rule, disguising their Lich led army into something of honor and order. Eldan scowled at the thought. They had killed some of those within Vesper in cold blood. Those who did nothing, raised not a single weapon against their oppressors. Merely anger motivated the killings.

He laid the pitchfork on Ollo's breast, moving his dead hands to grip it, as a fallen knight would hold his sword over his shield. "Rest well my brave friend. For within your heart was a noble and honorable man. You will be avenged. And those who killed needlessly, to cause fear will be brought to justice."

Eldan left then, to begin arrangements to honor his friend and comrade in arms. He was a normal elf, who wished to defend his home and people.

His name was Ollo....

(...from the pages of the Riven Diary)

*Entry from the Minoc Defense*

(The page is covered in dried blood. The hand-writting shakey and hard to read.)

I've been pulled back, away from the wall. I took a heavy hit from Tarothian's blade. One of those brown robes pulled me out. I will have to find him and thank him. I must have lost a lot of blood...I'm tired. I should re (The "T" trails of the page.)

I passed out, feeling better now. Those brown robes, have some serious healing powers.

My arm is wreaked, will take some more time to heal. Sorry for the sloppy penmanship.

The bartender is dead, damn fool! I heard his battle cry from the Eastern Flank. "CHARRRRGE!" If he could fight as well as he mixed an Umbrian Blood Scowl, he might have done something other than die.

The walls hold for now. We are cut off from supplies we will desperatly need in the near future. I should talk with the warden about establishing some conveys with Yew. It will have to be done in secret. Luckly ore from Kendall Mount should be plentiful. Strong wood is the only issue now.

*The next day*

Wounds healing quickly.

I can't get that damn barman out of my head. It's like his cry is haunting me. Good thing make me fight harder. The Lady Gwen has deep coifers, money from the Minoc mine camps, i have no doubt. She is taken care of the dead. She has a special cermony in the works for the Vesper barmen. I guess he deserves it. Fighting to defend a city that is not his.

I will try to get to his body. I should take a piece of him.

If this be my last entry. I have died a good death.

----Pit.
