|
The harpy harvester, weary from battle, was overjoyed but a little snappy, when he finally arrived in Moonglow with the zoo supplies intact. The fortifications had held and Minoc's port remained open for the time. His red eyes scaned the courtyard and landed on a red headed woman. He realized why the zookeeper had kept him far far away, harvesting harpy meat for the zoo. She looked like trouble.
Several more Moonglowians began to show up and started questioning the elf about his business in Moonglow. The harvester spoke at great length to members of the council, concerning the problems and the goings on in the Couvetous region of Fellucca. He spoke of the forces of Dark Order and how they had taken over Vesper and had tried to take over Minoc, but failed. They were now laying seige to the city that had thrawted their earlier attempts to seize control. The harvester spoke of the innocent people, the women and children and old folks cought up in the savagry of war. He hoped that he could convey the seriousness of the situation so that maybe Moonglow would send aid to ease the suffering brought about by the clashing of the powers in the north. The counsil seemed very concerned for the plight of the innocent.
After a few choice words about the zookeeper who had caused him so much difficulty and nearly cost him his life, the red eyed elf gave the supply beetle to the counsil. They would see it saftely to the zoo. He then checked himself into the inn and slept hard. It had been a very tough day but he was glad to be alive. |

Ah, the supplies. Quite possibly the last thing that will ever come out of Minoc. You have done a wonderful job, sir. Thank you very much for your months of toil in the name of the zoo. It is simply too dangerous and expensive to ship things to and from Minoc. Please consider our arrangement complete. You will of course get paid for the full year. I wish you many safe travels and may the blood in your body never cease to keep you from standing upright.
The harvester shook his head in confusion at the the zookeeper's last statement. Will you not help them?, he asked in a bewildered tone.
You must understand, harvester, Moonglow is Neutral and must remain so. What you have told us, is troubling, but Moonglow has not been threatened and therefore will not get involved. Good day to you, sir harvester. With that, the zookeeper turned and left. _________________
