Alaundril had been staying at this particular Inn for some time now. Nearly a week. He had wounded one who thought it would be easy to come and steal from what most in the Inn thought as a harmless old man. The one that came last night, the Drow left alive, so that he could tell his friends, and perhaps then, these fools would leave him be. Even though they we're foolish human types and they spent their miserably short lives rather foolishly.

So, last night it amused him that the same ragged looking man came into his room, hoping to pilfer some valuables. Apparantly, he didn't remember who was in this room.

Alaundril heard him coming several minutes before he actually made it into the room. Reaching under his matress, he pulled a cruelly curved knife. The only weapon he had since is return to these lands, and it had served him well. As it would again.

Barely a whisper was made as the drow slipped to the side of the window. He even reached up to unlock it, so desperate for human life to be taken. He waited with practiced silence as he heard the footsteps come closer. This one was no novice. He was purposefully trying to mask his approach, to one accustomed to working in darkness however, Alaundril was not caught unaware.

He could see the man's shadow in the moonlight now, checking the window quietly.

Almost time....

The latched clicked quietly. The window slowly swung inward, the cold north air flowing into the room. As soon as Alaundril saw his hand pushing inward, his own snapped out like a viper, gripping the man's wrist with a dreath grip and yanked downward hard, attempting to wrentch the man inside.

It worked, partially. With a growl the human male fought from being dragged within the window, to certain death. This one was different the drow thought to himself. Stronger and better disciplined. The human lashed out with his other hand, stabbing a knife hard into Alaundril's forearm, perhaps returning the favor for his comrade.

Sheer pain raced like fire through crouching drow's arm and he released the man , snarling as he heard the man retreating. Fool! Now, you must die....slowly.

Alaundril moved quickly out of the window, stepping out on the street, he caught a glimpse of a fleeing figure around the corner. They know, or someone knows I'm here....

He took chase then, blood trickling from the stab wound on his arm. He longed to take a life, and it seemed this foolish man would be the first. He ran on, a wicked grin on his visage.
