Report to the Molly Kaldhell, Duchess House of the Gauntlet, and the Royal Council of Light.

From Captain de Clare on the island of Magincia.

The Free Lancers took ship to the island. Had some difficulty finding a place to dock but eventually landed at a private wharf.

We rode around the city first. As many already reported, the jungle animals have left. Where before many snakes, alligators, etc, would annoy the passer by, now there were none.

We noted many armed council members patrolling the streets of Maginicia as well as soldiers, indicating a highly increased state of vigilance.

And fear.

However, we found no obvious sign of an invader. No camps. No invading troops. No destruction, except that the moongate will not allow transport to the island. It will permit transport from the island as before.

We learned the city intends to use cannon as part of their defense, just as Moonglow did during the Dark Wisp Invasion. Hopefully, they'll have more than one if the threat proves as great as rumors claim.

I thank you for this opportunity to serve the Royal Council of Light, and we will continue to patrol Magincia and report changes.

Ariving in the great hall she greets the messenger sending him to the kitchen for refreshment.

She unscrolls the report and reads. She walks to her desk and begins to write a response.

Greetings Lord de Clare,

Thank you for your report. I hope your travels were without injury or illness and this letter finds you well.

I pray of you to continue your observance of the situation in Magencia. Our exsistance depends upon being aware of what we are to face. In your travels did you see Lord Isk or the Lich Lord? Should you see them, try and avoid them seeing you, it may tip our hand when the time comes for action.

I would like to meet with you in person at your earliest convenience.

May the virtues and powers of the light protect you and your men in this dangerous endevor.
