He hands him a message addressed to Lord Thrax with no official markings only a red seal of a clenched gauntleted fist. He then scurries off into the night not leaving a name or waiting for payment.

Lord Thrax,

I wish to arrange a private meeting with you. We must speak, it is urgent. The Lady Ishtar is welcome to attend but this must remain secret, please.

After reading the note, the Baron sent for his ablest and most trusted courier and sent a reply to the Duchess by night:

"Duchess Molly,

I received your letter and would be happy to meet with you at your convenience. You are more than welcome to visit me and the Baroness at Whitehall, my home in Thraxstadt. If you choose to come here, send word at your leisure and I will make certain all is in readiness to receive you. You may come prepared to dine with us as well (if a pretext is needed for our meeting, that would be a good one). The invitation, quite naturally, includes your husband.

I look forward to the meeting even though I am uncertain what prompted it, or what necessitates such secrecy. I am also a bit surprised that you would even wish to speak to me after my behavior at the last Regency meeting. But we may discuss more of that and any mutual interests when we do meet. I await your reply.
