Skara Brae at sunset, a cool breeze wafting in from the open sea, carrying with it the scent of fall. But this cool breeze had nothing compared to the cold sinking feeling in Sir Roberts gut as he found himself unexpectedly face to face with a dark armored figure... Even though he could not see his face, he felt the presence of Lord Isk.
Stunned by this sudden encounter he could not retreat (nor would his honor permit so) before the head of the dark figure turned around.
"Robert..." the voice was deep, resonating.
"Lord Isk," the paladin replied, trying to keep his voice steady.
"Trinsic has opened way to my town." The voice was accusing.
"We evacuted people who were attacked by demons."
"There are no demons."
"Oh.." Sir Robert was dumbfounded... the reports from those fleeing Magincia was too precise, too much alike to be just a dreamscape. And in his confusion he let slip something else. "But the Book of Destiny spoke again."
"The Book of Destiny?" Now the voice of the man before him sounded interested. "What did it say?"
Not able to retract that last statement the paladin answered with honesty. "Pride shall fall. Beware the gate."
"Bah! Pride is the Virtue of Humanity!"
"Humility is the Virtue of Light," countered Sir Robert, but Lord Isk dismissed this.
"This Book of Destiny, where is it? In Trinsic?"
Sir Robert swallowed the lump in his throat and tried to answer calmly. "Considering your last attack to get some items, I hope you understand if I dont feel like revealing the location."
"The Armor is complete... Darkness is upon the land." With those words, Isk turned his mount and rode away, leaving Sir Robert in maybe the strongest desire for a strong drink since he went dry and sober.

One hour later the paladin met with a friend, a former protegee of his.
"Thank you for seeing me, Natasha." He said, pouring some wine into her goblet, while getting more water for himself. "I would have a little job for you."
"Oh... What can I do for Duke Dodo?"
"Magincia. I would like you to scout there. We have heard rumors of demons, but I've also received information that all is well."
Natasha snorted. "Well... I can look for demons, but doubt that it all is well there. I haven't seen Alizia for a while. Ever since she fell in with that crowd..."
"I know. I too wish that she hadn't joined Lord Isk. But then, noone can compare to her first husband, Charles Everblue, can't they?"
"No.. He was perfect for her. Well, at least I have a coverstory should someone ask me, why I'm in that area... I'm just looking for my sister."
Sir Robert nodded. "Aye.. but be careful, will you?"
"You know it."
