She stared at the young messenger boy as he handed her the letter. Something wasnt right as she watched the boy skip away. His movements were jerky, and odd.

Dear Mrs. Smythe,

I have heard of your daughters illness, and I am moved by it. I wish to help. You look just like your mother, Violetta De'Chambray was a lovely lady. Being an excellent doctor of sorts, in my day, and quite good with Alchemy I wondered if you would let me help. I can cure your daughter Mrs. Smythe. There is no doubt about this. I find myself intrigued, having researched a bit about Nightshade and her doll making, perhaps you can help me.
I only required one thing, Wisty, the doll in your possession, the potion will be yours, and all her ailments will be cured. It is a mothers choice, her daughters life, or parting with a keepsake of sentimental value. Seems easy really, to a parent. My messenger will be back tomorrow for your reply.

Signed,
A Matter of Life and Death,
Jonathan Strathmore

Wisteria didnt know what to do, she shot a flame at the letter and watched as it burst into flames. Walking into her dying daughters bedroom she looked down. He couldnt want the doll for any good reason, yet, her sister was strong, Adara was not. Oh Adara if I could just give my life for thee, to see you run and play again....

Tears streamed down her face, as she pulled the doll from its place, the miniature Nightshade staring accusingly back up at her. Forgive me Toren, I HAVE NO CHOICE, I will do anything.... She laid agaisnt Adaras bed her heart breaking, sobs shaking her body, A small hand came up resting on her head. Dont Cry Mommy I will get better soon....Wisty looked up and smiled, yes, Adara very very soon.

He knows my price.
