The Sosarian Open Tournament was a great success and fitting conclusion to the ARPC Harvest Festival.

Many people from varying guilds came out to participate in the event or cheer on their favorite combatants.

Lady Gwyn of Sanctus took home the title of Beastmaster of Sosaria.

Lord Isk of Magincia once again valiantly defended his title as Champion of the Horse and Lance. This marks his second consecutive victory in a row!

Beowulf of MTC proved himself the most cunning and strongest...emerging as the winner of the Mass Melee event.

The Grand Champion was Sir Mal De Maris of Moonglow, who showed a dazzling display of dueling skill to come out on top of over 15 other combatants in the single combat tournament.

Congratulations to all our winners. We hope everyone enjoyed the event. If so, we will hold another soon.

The brackets for each event are posted below. Thanks for coming out and making the night a resounding success.

Not to sound like an ego maniac, but Moonglow came out solid.

Two victories. Three second place finishes. We had a man in the finals of every event.

I think we took spots 1 - 15 on the mass melee on top of it.

I also love how Isk made everyone in Moonglow hate him with his showmanship. A great event overall!

I am quite surprised at how I did going up against some fine tamers.

Excellent show! It was a great thing to come back to. Thank you Tati, Talon, Molly and everyone else who had a hand at the festival, it was truly top notch. I tip my hat to you all!

I want to thank everyone and everything who came to ALL of the awesome events.

as for the tourny, guys, i seriously cant thank you enough. i have been in this community for twenty-two years and tonight was teh first tourny i was allowed to participate in. and i had a phenominal time. My body felt like i had robbed a 7-11 and killed a guy(adrenalin) For the first tourny in arpc history to allow potions it diddnt come to a suprise that the tradition of not likeing "chuggers" persued. Im totally cool with it but i think some things should be cleared up so no one ever does it again in UO history.
I am an RPer, there for never can i be refered to as a chugger. the now branded C-word is hereby forbidden. Some people may think thats a sorry excuse, and it isnt. but theres more. In RPing an alchemist you actually have to have the alchemy skill, wich is a disadvantage in combat generally. EX. since i have it, i dont have tactics, no specials Sad other than that to be a good alchemist required good timeing and targeting and over all movement. another thing.....my talisman ring and braclet have had to be deticated to my skill for years leaving me with no uber arties on meh.
and my favorite..........we just got nerfed. Glad we got that all cleared up.

Im so proud of this community i should be killed for it. weve come along way since WWII. Everything was great. i would like to thank molly especially for improvising the scavanger hunt and giving me a crapload of money. From the caravan to the jousting. Most fun ive had with the community as a whole ever.

btw, who made that awesome death scene on the road before you were ambushed?

Thanks to the stratics reporter who covered the event as well!

I would like to take a moment to thank MTC for handling the griefers outside who tried to ruin the event. You guys did an excellent job and kept the event going smoothly.

You should start RPing as cops...you already wear blue.

Thanks again.

Sounds like you guys had a blast, I think this is probably the only event in Atlantic history that I didn't have an account open at the time and would have attended if I did. I hope the stratics coverage / advertisement helped bring some people in to the community.

My advice from here is to harness that level of planning and set it towards an epic story arc for Atlantic to enjoy. I still think that it is possible to gain the attentions of the community manager in regards to player run plots. Something to shoot for.

I, too, will offer my congratulations on a well-run event. Hopefully all of you can learn from this, and continue on to flourish.

But while I'm here, I'd like to clear up one rumor:

I did not participate in the tournament. I did not win any tournament. I don't even have a UO account anymore.

3 different people ICQ'd me and congratulated me on winning the tournament (don't know which one they were referring to, though). Seriously, I don't play anymore. I sold my last account not too long ago Razz

Lol damn! Always have one up on me! I think people may have thought that you play Sir Mal De Maris. Because he was the only one to beat me, in anything. Even outside of the tournament him and I are about equal, when I can work past his 4/6 chiv.

To clear it up in Vaens defence, Sir Mal has been in MTC for a long time. He's friends with some of the other members and has other chars. He is not Vaen, he's good..but if I had to fight THE "Vaen Swiftar" in a tournament, I wouldn't have lasted that long. Sir Mal's template works very well after these patches and I am still adjusting, sorry to those who bet IRL money on me...Vaen. Razz

Congratulations to all who won. I was surprised to see Gwyn take it, but I was thrilled. Go Canada? Anywhoo..I was more than pleased to take the Mass Melee home, I had to forfit the joust because I switched fencing for wrestling (totally forgot..) best part was I made it to the second round without doing anything.

Excellent weekend all in all. MTC had a blast rping Brigands along side Umbra. MTC/Umbra has had an OOC frude for a few months and this was a way to show members that we have worked past our problems. MTC was also thrilled to get some PvP in and defend Ivory's home from griefers.

Semper Veritas.

Edit -- By the way..I own one of the two accounts that the Swiftar Sausage sold, and the warrior I inherited was not there. *nods*
