At the palace in Nujel’m, the marble path to the entrance was covered with bodies that were once palace guards, nobles, servants, and others. Blood, weapons and other pieces of debris were scattered along with the bodies. Inside the palace was also the same with bodies and blood splattered against the walls. Burn marks were also on the walls which indicated some magic must have been used. With the exception of some of the bedrooms, most of the rooms in the palace were vandalized just like the marble path in front. The pool and the garden outside of the palace were also left with bodies and blood.
Walking down the hallway was the Avatar of Oggaroth, Spawn with the priest named “Eye” following behind. Spawn held his blood soaked bokuto tightly in his hand glancing about the hallway as he walked. The two made their way into the dining area which looked like a battlefield with more bodies and death. Spawn stood at the head of the table picking up an apple with his free hand while the priest looked around at the death and destruction by his master’s hand.
“Master?” said the priest with a low tone somewhat whispering.
“What?” Spawn said taking a bite from the apple. He chewed the apple in his mouth his gaze locked upon the priest waiting to hear his response.
“Concordia is in Zento.” The priest said walking slowly to his master.
“I know that! What are you getting at?” Spawn asked as he threw the apple over his shoulder.
“Why are we here?” The priest asked looking down to the floor.
“We are here because I want Concordia to witness what I can do. This is a message to Concordia so to speak” Spawn said pointing to the bodies and bloodshed around him and the priest. He slowly began walking around the table running his hand on the corpses that were scattered across the table. “I want her to know she is no match against my power!” Spawn continued. He came to a corpse of one of the palace guards picking up a long sword which was on the floor next to the body. Eye nodded in agreement watching his master play with the sword by twirling it in his hand.
“The Regency most likely knows about you escaping. What will you do about them?” Eye asked.
”The Regency?” Spawn said followed by a laugh. “The Regency shall sit in their little meetings debating how they think they can stop me. Let them for it shall do them no good.” He explained walking towards the priest with an evil smirk. “And now that Concordia has arrived on this plane, it has given them hope and pride. Twice the pride… double the fall!” Spawn said laughing evilly.
“Yes Master. What about the other lightbringers?” asked Eye watching his master stand directly in front one of the windows and glancing onto the city of Nujel’m.
“Pfft! They are equally as pathetic and weak as the Regency and Concordia! Which of them can stop me? The pitiful Consensus of Light in Malas? Ha! They are too busy claiming worthless land and imaginary power. I laugh at them more than I do the Regency.” said Spawn followed by another laugh. He glanced over his shoulder toward the priest Eye. “Pathetic weak lightbringers think they are safe by praying to the virtues to protect them! Nothing can protect them from inevitable! Justice? Compassion? Valor? Ha! The virtues are just another delusion by humanity trying to justify their pitiful existence!” Spawn continued slowly walking towards the priest.
“Yes Master. The lightbringers are no match against the power of Oggaroth!” Eye shouted in excitement. Spawn nodded pointing the sword he picked up at the priest’s chest.
“Of course they aren’t! They are all talk but none of them can match me in battlefield! Not the Regency! Not the Consensus! Not even Concordia can defeat me! I… am… forever!” Spawn shouted. He quickly brought the sword from the priest’s chest into the air finally slamming in into the wood of the dining table. The priest jumped up being briefly startled by the loud crash.
“Yes Master! What will we do about Isk, and the Umbrans?” asked Eye trying to compose himself.
“The Umbrans see my cause therefore I shall let them stand at my side when I wipe out the lightbringers” said Spawn. He glanced at the sword that was stuck inside the table. “Isk… Isk is an elf hater and poses no threat to me. I shall leave him alone in his small worthless city of Magincia unless he attempts to get in my way. If he does, I shall destroy him along with the lightbringers.” He continued walking away from the dining room down the hallway in the direction of the entrance. Spawn sheathed his bokuto glancing at all the bodies and destruction he caused.
“Yes my master. What do we do now?” asked Eye who was also looking at his master’s work.
“Now… We wait for Concordia to make her move.” Spawn said opening the blood dripping doors of the palace. The two walked out of the palace down the path leading into the city of Nujel’m. The palace was silent with the exception of Spawn’s evil laughter echoing throughout. _________________

Complete devastation. That is what Vanya encountered as she returned back to the island of Nu’jelm. She had been away for a few days visiting the grave sight of her beloved friend Beriadan. She stared at the pool of blood on the steps of the Nu’jelm palace with an empty expression on her face. She used her staff to carefully move each body out of the walking path and as she did, she saw the faces of those who helped to keep the Palace running. She bent over to each body and let her small fingers shut their eyelids.
Once inside the scene was not much different. More of the Palace staff lay slain on the floor, blood splattered on the walls. Who would do such a thing? she thought to herself.
Her mind raced forward. Where was Edric? He too, must be dead. ”Edric! Edric!” she called out for him, but there was no response, only an echo of her voice through the dead hallways.
She turned over each body, closing their eyes, checking for Edric. Fortunately, he was no amoung the mass of dead bodies. She was hopeful he survived, but wracked with grief over all those dead.
She made her way down the street to the inn and spoke briefly to the innkeepers. Being fond of Vanya and sympathetic, they agreed to help in cleaning the mess and providing proper burials. She stayed for the night and helped them to clean, but she knew as soon as the morning came she must ride to Serpent’s Hold.
Tomorrow she would tell the Regent what has happened. _________________
