Within the small city of Cove, the people were running frantically to their homes and anyplace to hide. Screams for pain and pleas for help echoed throughout the city. Random buildings, shops and homes were on fire with people desperately trying to extinguish the flames with water and dirt. Several people sat next to corpses of their families and friends mourning their deaths. The rest ran towards the city gates attempting to flee the city. Walking down the street toward the gate was Spawn laughing evilly watching the chaos that was around him. Suddenly, a fireball hit the ground in front of Spawn from the direction of the gate.

I finally found you fiend” said a man standing directly in front of Spawn. The man was dressed in chain mail along with a dark blue cloak. Spawn looked on the ground where the fireball hit then back at the man.

You are either very brave or very stupid” Spawn said narrowing his eyes at the man. The city was mostly empty and quiet with the exception of the mourners and the people putting out the fire. Spawn and the unknown man were the only ones at the city gate.

I have been looking for you since you killed my brother!” said the man equipping his scimitar. Spawn gazed at the weapon then back at the man with an evil smirk.

You must be very stupid to think you can face me boy” Spawn said slowly walking towards the man. The two slowly inched closer and closer to each other as more people began to run trying to seek shelter.

I am no boy. My name is Mason Baik! And I shall end your reign demon!” said the man pointing his scimitar at Spawn.

Your name matters not to me. That you’re about to die should.” Spawn said stopping within arms reach of the man named Mason. Spawn slowly unsheathed his bokuto and began twirling it in his hand. Both men stood perfectly still facing each other with their weapons for a moment with the city streets around them now completely quiet and empty. The skies began to darken as the rain poured down upon the two and the rumbles of thunder echoed.

Suddenly, the man charged swinging his scimitar at Spawn. The blade of Mason’s weapon was blocked as Spawn brought his bokuto in its path. The two men continued exchanging and blocking weapon blows. The storm got fiercer as the rain came down faster and the thunder got louder. The fight continued from the city gates to the northernmost part of Cove where there was a small wooden tower. The townspeople watched the two men fighting from within the undamaged buildings.

The two men stood at the wooden guard tower still exchanging blows with their weapons. As one man delivered an attack, the other man would block it successfully. The battle resumed on the mountain in front of the wooden tower as the sound of the weapons clashing echoed throughout Cove. The lightning from the storm lit the tower around the men as the rain completely drenched their clothing and armor. Mason raised his scimitar again in attempt to strike Spawn. Suddenly, Spawn swung his bokuto at Mason striking him in the wrist causing him to drop his weapon. Mason watched his weapon fall to the ground then glanced at Spawn who had his bokuto pointed at him.

I must admit you fought well but I’m afraid I have the upper hand” Spawn said inching closer his opponent. Mason stepped back until reaching the edge of the rooftop where he couldn’t back up anymore.

I don’t think so demon! It ends here!” said Mason bringing both his hands in front of him. “Corp Por!” he chanted hurling an energy bolt at Spawn. The bolt slammed into Spawn’s chest sending him flying back into the ground. “Por Ort Grav” Mason chanted again sending a bolt of lightning down on Spawn. The lightning electrocuted Spawn who was still on the ground from the energy bolt before. Spawn slowly stood to his feet narrowing his eyes at him. “Die now fiend!” Mason yelled charging into Spawn smashing him with his shoulder. The blow knocked Spawn off the mountain which led into the water. Mason fell to his knees trying to catch his breath glancing at the mountain’s edge where Spawn fell over.

Did I do it?” Mason whispered to himself. He slowly crawled over to his scimitar picking it up with his right hand. Mason looked up at the sky feeling the rain fall on his face. He began to walk towards the edge of the mountain holding his scimitar with both hands. When Mason reached the edge, he leaned over glancing over at the water to see if Spawn hit the bottom. Suddenly, Mason was struck in the face by Spawn’s fist from the edge. Spawn quickly climbed back on top of the mountain as Mason stumbled backward after being hit by the kick.

Corp Por! Por Ort Grav!” Spawn chanted launching an energy bolt followed by a lightning bolt at Mason. The energy bolt slammed into Mason’s chest causing him to fall back to the ground. As he hit the ground, the lightning bolt hit Mason in the chest electrocuting him. Spawn quickly walked up to the fallen Mason grabbing by his neck with a tight grip.

Now feel the full power of Oggaroth!” Spawn said lifting Mason off the ground by his neck. The helpless Mason tried to free himself of Spawn’s tight grip by trying pry his fingers open. “Vas Flam!” Spawn chanted launching a fireball at Mason’s stomach with his free hand. Mason was thrown out of Spawn’s grip by the fireball and tumbled toward the edge of the mountain. Spawn began to laugh sinisterly which echoed throughout the city. Mason stood up to his feet holding his chest with one hand and his scimitar with the other. The violent claps of lightning and loud rumbles of thunder continued overhead as Spawn slowly walked towards Mason.

Spawn raised his bokuto ready to strike at Mason. He brought down the wooden sword down upon Mason’s side. The bokuto made a loud bone crunching sound upon slamming Mason on the side. Mason then fell to the ground to his knees as blood ran down his chin out of his mouth. Spawn laughed again raising his unarmed hand in front of him towards the injured Mason.

Now Mason Baik. You shall die.” Spawn said with an evil smirk. “Vas Ort Grav” he chanted sending several bolts of lightning at Mason. The bolts struck Mason in multiple parts of his body. After being hit by the lightning, Mason’s body was launched over the mountain glowing bright from the electrical shock of the bolts. Spawn glanced down as the body slammed into the water causing a huge splash. The townspeople watched in horror and disbelief as Spawn walked down the street from the mountain. He approached the city gates sheathing his bokuto feeling the gaze of the people on his back. As he stood at the gates, he took over last glance over his shoulder at the city which was in disarray. Spawn laughed again walking out of the city through the gates heading deeper into the woods.
