Ciara listened intently to her mother grumbling to herself. A lich-drow, she thought to herself, her mind processing the information. She knew a lich drow must be like her, half drow and half something else. Her mother even said he was a necromancer, like her! She had to get better at necromancy, to please daddy, as she still couldn’t swing her blade very good. Getting up, she snuck one of her mother’s stationary from her desk, an ink bottle, and a quill. In very sloppy writing, she began to write.

Deer Barl lich-drow,

Ciara

Evereewon ask, my daddy is X’eros De’vir and my mommy is Doireann De’vir. So yous no ask me wen we meets.

Ciara then set about finding her mother’s kitten, knowing it could send it to the right place, even if she didn’t know really where that was.

Barl read over the unexpected letter, annoyed that a child had written him. All the same, it was a child who wanted to pursue necromancy, and that could be of value to Barl. The Lich-Drow sat at a stone table and wrote the young girl a response.

Greetings Ciara,

I find it curious that you write me speaking of Necromancy knowing that your father practices the art to a degree himself. Never the less, the fact that you are devoted enough to learn of me and seek me out shows potential for your future. Arrange it with your parents, and I will have my apprentice bring you before me so that we may discuss the possibility of your education.

-Barl De'Abreago
