Vaen found Angel laying on the benches that were on the main level of the Swiftar home. She was curled up, holding the back of her head gingerly. Fear raced through his mind as he ran up to her, calling out her name. He sat down next to her, placing his hands on her and looking her over trying to figure out what had happened, "What happened?!" She slowly lifted her head and looked up at him, the slight hand mark around her neck becoming visible. She could see the concern grow on his face as he brought a hand up, lightly touching her neck, "Who did this?!"
She coughed a little, her voice straining, "M.. Marcus."

Angel could see the anger growing in his eyes as she laid her head back against the bench starting to feel dizzy again. She heard Vaen say a few curses as he leaned down and kissed her on the forehead, "You'll be fine. He won't hurt you anymore. Now tell me what happened."

She slowly relayed the story to him of how she had been at Hanse's when Marcus Stanim showed up. She hadn't recognized him when he started looking her over. He had seemed to know who she was though and to her shock called her by her last name. That's when she tried to look under his hood and Marcus peered into her eyes. A shiver ran through her body and she instantly knew who it was. She told Vaen how Marcus grabbed her by the throat, tightening his grip continually eventually slamming the back of her head against the stones of the fireplace. This was when Sheriff Spawn finally intervened and Marcus pushed her to the side and when she came to Vaen's house.

Her throat was hurting slightly from all the talking as she looked back up to Vaen and saw the look on his face. He looked around the room for a moment and muttered, "I'll kill him." Angel's eyes started shutting again, as he carefully picked her up and carried her up to his room. He laid her down on the bed gently and left the room for a moment. He returned with some bandages that he had soaked in cold water and handed them to her. She winced a little as she gently placed them against the back of her head, closing her eyes. He just sat on the edge of the bed for a few minutes watching her, gently rubbing her legs. Then he slowly got up and kissed her on the forehead again, "I love you"
She mumbled quietly, "Love you."
He smiled slightly, "You'll be safe here." Then he turned and walked out of the bedroom door.

Angel laid there, her head throbbing and neck still hurting. Marcus' words kept replaying through her head, "You sealed your fate Angel, and I've come to finish it." She had been the reason he failed to gain full control of Vaen and now it appeared he was going to take revenge out on her.
