The calm, night air of Sanctus provided little sound on this evening. The occasional hoofbeats and clanking of soliders armor rarely filled the night air, as much had not been occurring in the city since nightfall.

Up the path, heading south, walked a man robed in compassionate blue. He wore sandals and had short white hair with a grey beard. In one hand he carried a book in which he would frequently open and read as if attempting to remember something.

As he came to the front door of Hanse's in Sanctus, he looked around and listened. All was quiet save the barmaids in the hostel walking about. He then entered the tavern and took a seat at one of the tables. When a barmaid approached him, he asked,
"Excuse me, is this the city of Sanctus?"
The barmaid nodded, a bit confused, and replied, "Yes it is traveler. You are now in Hanse's Hostel. May I serve you something?"
The man shook his head and opened his book. He motioned his hand as if to ask the barmaid a question, but it was too late as she had already walked off. He then took back to reading his book.
Shortly a man entered the tavern adorned in the traditional garment of the Order of Sanctus. The man was Crown Prince Zarlox of Sanctus. As Zarlox walked in, he immediately noticed the traveler at the table.
With a brief hesitation, the traveler stood up and asked, "Excuse me," the traveler looked in his book and said while reading, "I am looking for Alan Drogo, Eldred Jonas, or Talon Skyfire." The traveler looked up. "Are they around?"

Zarlox responded after pondering a moment, "I believe Lord Skyfire is, but I know Eldred and Alan were around last evening. Who might be asking traveler?"

The man closed his book and replied, "My name is Heraldric, Wanderer and Information Gatherer. My sender has given me names of people to track down in Sosaria. I have a list here of guilds, cities, and names relative to locations where I might find them."

Zarlox nodded. He then wrote down on a piece of parchment and sent off a pigeon. He then replied, "I shall send for Talon. Pray tell, who is your sender?"

Heraldric opened his book and then replied, "I am sorry. I am only allowed to disclose such information to names enclosed within this conscript. Please forgive me."
Zarlox nodded again and sat down with Heraldric. After a long conversation, Zarlox found out much about Heraldric and his intentions. Heraldric spoke of his time as a tavernkeep at the Serpent's Cross Tavern as well as his time spent in Rivendell. Soon, a Sanctus Corporal entered Hanse's and announced Talon's arrival.
Heraldric and Zarlox exited Hanse's and met Talon in the front. After a bow Heraldric opened his book and began to speak.

"Mylord Talon. I have been sent for information regarding the last 300 years of occurences within Sosaria. I have traveled many places and I fear Sanctus is the last location in which the names written by my sender are familiar."
Talon nodded and then asked, "Before I can provide information, pray tell, who is your sender?"

Heraldric paused and then replied, "I am Heraldric, journeyman of my sender, Thoma Valient."

Talon smiled at the name and urged Heraldric to continue. For two hours they spoke. Heraldric asked many questions regarding the Regency, the cities, the old dark forces and their fates, and much more. At the end of the conversation Heraldric opened his pack and presented Talon with a book similar to the one he had been reading from.

"This is from my sender. He wishes you to read it and keep its contents a secret."
Talon took the book and read the few written pages. After he completed the script, he packed it away in his pouch and asked,

"So Thoma is returning?"

Heraldric nodded and replied, "Written by my sender himself."

Talon smiled once more and invited Heraldric to stay in Sanctus as long as he wished. He then looked at his time piece and bid Heraldric farewell, as there was much to discuss at the Royal Court this particular evening, including Heraldric's recent news.
