Tay pranced around Umbra in his “regular” form, letting out loud growls mixed with laughter and clawing his arms at what only appeared to be the air. One claw however remained very still and with a closer eye one could see he was holding a book. He stomped his way into the Sepulcher that he referred to as The Matrierch’s House.

He looked up and saw a young girl with green hair and immediately spoke the words to transform himself back into his real state. His big brown eyes gleamed up at the girl.

”What’s your name? she asked looking down at the boy.

”Tay” he said. This was the first person he had seen in Umbra that was not an adult and he was clearly thrilled. He took a natural liking to her and began chatting away.

”I’m…I mean…I am looking for the Matri…matrierch. I found this book. It has her name in it!” he pushed the book towards the girl, opening it up and pointing to the name.

Just then she entered the room. There she stood in all her glory, her white hair tucked under her big wizard hat. He loved her hair. Upon seeing her he immediately ran up to her giving her a tight squeeze.

”I found this…What does imminent mean?” he said, pushing the book into her hands. He opened to the first page which clearly read: The death of the Matriarch is imminent.

She patted him on the head and said to him, ”It means it is very soon or close.” He then wrapped his arms around her legs saying, ”Oh no, you are going to die?”

”I already am dead.” Those around let out a light laugh as he tried to think about what she was saying. already dead? he wondered, but he did not let his thought keep him from play.

He clung back onto Willow’s skirt, his hands not letting go. ”Do you want to play swords?” he asked. She smiled down and gave a quick nod. As they both made their way outside, Tay began to pull out his sword and shield. The weight and sheer size of both object nearly resulted in him toppling over. Willow let out a laugh and rushed over to help. ”Here, like this.” She stood moving his hand grips and the stance of his feet.

Their swords met, but the five year old was no match for an eleven year old. He fell twice, but stood back up with the same energy he had before falling. He looked up at her and latched onto her hand. ”You are my girlfriend” he looked up with a smile. She looked down and simply said, ”Yes, I am a girl and I am your friend.”

He made a friend. A friend who liked to play swords. A friend with green hair. Oh how happy he was.
