Evoroth sat in his chair next to a fire. It was cozy, he constantly felt cold now, the fire and indoors made him very comfortable. He had accomplished to much today, both good and bad, some bringing a warmth to his heart and some creating even more disdain. He was torn.

He looked over at his bed and noticed he hadnt yet unpacked his belongings into his new home. It wasnt much but a simple shack, enough for a few bookshelfs and closets to store his robes and books. It was home at least, far better then his previous refuge for so long. He finally stood up after many minutes of delaying and moved to the bed and untied the ropes that bound his cloth items together.

As he began slowly unfolding each robe and sash he started thinking back to the events earlier that evening. First he had built himself up for the Royal Court meeting all day in hopes of letting Lady Molly.. or Duchess as she apparently was now, to see him. He wasn't sure if he had remembered the day it was held or the time but some commoners in luna pointed him in the right direction.

Unfortunately she wasn't in attendance personally but he made cordial acquaintance with some of those amongst her liege now.. so many new faces.. so many who seemed unseasoned, in his opinion, to guard such a lady.
The highlight of the evening was the arrival in sanctus in search of the one woman he had ever....loved... Summer. Shihan had pointed him in that direction to begin search for her and along the way Evoroth encountered an old familiar face.. Talon Skyfire. The pompous king hadnt changed a bit.. still weak, still sarcastic, still useless. Just as he had remembered in the past when he was never there for Molly.

The dwelling thoughts of those times reminded him of the most grim news of the day. As he stood unfolding another robe.. a white robe, a symbol of the order of the Lightsworn mages, he began thinking of ole' Vaen. Talon had told him Vaen had left those lands in search of a better home for he and his family. He couldnt really blame him.. he left as well for a different purpose, it must have just beens Vaen's time. As he sat there thinking about Vaen and then back to the discussion with Talon, a fire within him started igniting. In an instant his eyes began to glow blue and he dropped the white robe on the ground as he turned and shot a bolt of ice at the fireplace extiguishing it.

He was no longer cold... he suddenly became uncomfortably hot.. like an inferno within him. He blinked his eyes and they began glowing red granting him vision in the now darkened room.

Who is he to speak to me in that manner, I who was there and stood at Molly's side when Sanctus hid under rocks. Who is he to doubt my powers and let his peon of a guard address me with such sarcasm. He is nothing, a trivial little man who I shoulda simply ended this evening.

He looked down at his bed and then at the floor where the white robe had fallen.... he kicked it aside. He then looked back at the bed, and almost like a certain destiny the black robes he wore when he departed from the planes of sosaria over a year ago, laid there. The dark robes, robes of necromancers, undead conjurers, and the order of dark mages.

He lifted them up slowly to his face... and then grasped them to his body like he was hugging someone he loved.

No I can't.. I can't go down this path..
He thought back to Summer who he had reconciled with earlier in the evening. She was so precious to him.
She lived amongst evil for soo long in the presence of the Ebon Skull. Maybe she will understand. But i will not abandon her again. Maybe the "darksworn" aren't the wrong ones.. they never hurt her when she lived amongst them. Whether they were powerful or not, at least they had spirit and didnt hide behind high castle walls.

He set the black robe back onto the bed and untied the lose cord that kept his brown tattered robe on he currently wore. he then let it simply drop to the floor and kicked that aside like the white one before it. Slowly he picked the dark robe back up and slipped his arms into the sleeves. As he did he started recalling parts of the conversation with Talon once again...

The Ebon skull are gone he said.. but his new enemies reside under the banner of the Shadow Conclave. Between trinsic and britain is where I shall go to where that fool told me theyd be. The legacy of the Ebon skull lives on with those there. And perhaps I'll give them knowledge and supply them with the most powerful tool of warfare so they can accomplish there goals. There will be no sleep tonight. Tonight I find my new friends.

With that he finished fastening a new belt around his current robe and felt suddenly rejuvenated, it was regaining his power exponentially each day but this new motivation was like the total restoration of all his physical strength and arcane prowess. He reached for his new wooden sword and it flew across the room into his hands. He wasnt fond of it, but it was light and he could swing it far faster then the old valorite weapons he once used. He then turned toward the door and exited into the small light that the torches near the road provided. He blinked again and his eyes returned to normal.

With that he drew a single rune from a pouch he carried and began chanting creating a gate before him. He stepped through it.

Tonight I find my new friends
