Gwyn lay curled close to her husband, her head resting on his chest. Normally she did not dream, or at least did not recall any dreams she may have had...

Her tiny brow furrowed slightly as a voice from somewhere distant spoke to her. She did not recognize the voice, nor did she know where it came from.

" I am returning....you must let them know..."

Her mind's eye searched the darkness for the source of the voice yet she saw nothing.

" I have learned much in my absence, for I have walked the line of the dead...."

" Who are you?" She spoke clearly into the nothingness and waited.

The voice continued, "...Upon my journey... I didst acquire some new... powers....they shall once again hear my call..."

Once again Gwyn spoke to the voice, " Why do you tell me this? Who are you? Where are you?"

For a moment there was no sound. Then the voice returned, " Tell them I will return!" The voice seemed to command to her. "I am the elder M'real....I am Tay."


Gwyn sat up in and looked around the room...she shook her head briefly and tried to recall the voice. The name...she had heard James and Marcus speak of him, she knew he was James father.

Looking down at Marcus still soundly sleeping, she smiled softly. No need to wake him, she thought. She would not forget the words spoken in her dream. She would tell him in the morn, then he would surely let James know.

She was still confused as to why she had heard him....did he speak to others as he did to her?

Shaking her head slightly once again, she lay back down and nestled her head on Marcus' chest.

...She would remember...
