The Mayor sat quietly in his still council chambers, the wind blowing softly through the white stone windows which surrounded the grand table upon which so many resolutions lived and died throughout the years. Behind him, the townstone of the city council stood gnarled and worn, thousands of names having been etched into and erased from it. Originally carved from stone taken from the mountain near Honesty, the stone looked peakid and wary from overuse.
GreyPawn stood slowly and turned in place, walking towards the stone to place two hands on in and bow his head. He spoke aloud in choked back words to the empty council room.
"The world will come to a man who knows his place and waits. Energy and persistance alter all things... and..."
He grinned slightly, remembering Caina, Jhelom Council, the Ne'Sveti, Juo'Nar and Trinsic, the great Battle of Stonegate and Wintermoor. He remembered the many Orc invasions and occupations, the sundering of Felucca, the tainting of the shrines and the rise and fall of Blackthorne and the ebb and flow of the Regency. He remembered Aragothias, the Demon Phakebrus and the Westmark Dynasty, Nostur'yl, the shadow lantern, the savages and the battles with Minax and her legions.
