I hope this is the appropriate forum for this.
I can't seem to connect to UO. When I try, it simply says "Couldn't Connect to Ultima Online right now. Please try again in a few minutes."
Now, this seems directly related to another problem I was having. I was tyring to run an emulation server to mess with house customization (I do that alot when I get bored,) and it kept giving me an error about having an unencrypted client.
Also, I couldn't connect to any servers through UOgateway.
I fiddled with the RunUO server files, but I don't think that can effect my UO client.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks. |

Only a third party program would be able to remove the encryption from your client. I assume that is what happened. Try reinstalling UO. |

Actually, I found the problem with the emulation server.
It said "Encrypted client detected" as opposed to unencrypted, I just remembered wrong. Now, this is because the patches beyond 5.0.6 use a different type of encryption that UO gateway does not support. So I'll have to use something else to connect to my emulation server.
Now, I've uninstalled all of my programs related to freeshards (besides runUO itself), and I can get to the verification screen on the OSI login. But it gets stuck there and doesn't do anything.
Any ideas? |

Did you reinstall the actual UO client? It might be a painfully slow process, but your encryption is jammed somehow. It almost sounds like you are running the encrypted login unencrypted, and the unencrypted logins encrypted, which doesnt make any sense. I figure a clean reinstall of UO (uninstall, wipe the UO folder, reinstall) would do it.
Save your macro sheets if you want, but something in the config files is uberborked. |

Reinsstalling as we speak.
I already started, and didn't completely wipe the UO folder. Will that be an issue?
Well, I'll let you know if it works.
Thanks. |

The reinstall seemed to fix it. Now I'll just bring back the programs I was using for my emulation server and find which one caused it, or if it was those at all.
Thanks! |
