Lady Hwesta,

As talks have broken off with your nation on a whole, I found it prudent to send this letter directly to you. If they will not listen to my pleas, perhaps they will listen to yours. Our master was your husband. We would think you would want him restored more than anyone else.

You were wise to tell your son not to go to Felucca.

You were wise to tell him not to go back to his home in Caina.

You were right to think he could be used against you.

I was surprised when the lad strode into the Sanctum and demanded to know why I was "in his fathers house". You can only imagine his surprise when I told him I was a friend of his father, and was looking for him. He informed me that his father was dead.

We had a long talk about the nature of life, death and ressurection. He is a very bright boy, you must be very proud of him.

When I told him that a few of his fathers old friends were working on a magical way to return him to life, he became very excited, and offered to help in any way he could. I could not have asked for a better helper, other than perhaps Izrem Verin'Vlos. You son thinks very highly of the drow. He was kind enough to open a gate on the rune home for Zilthai. We cannot thank the Drow enough for delivering the master's son to us.

Here is where we make the obilgatory threats and demands.

We have the boy. We would prefer not to harm him, as he is the master's son, but elven blood is elven blood.

You have until sunset Saturday to supply us with the 500 units of elven blood, or we will bleed the child for what we need.

Should you even think about rescuing the boy, or trying some valiant plan to save him, I will gut and bleed him into a bucket like a slaughterhouse pig without any hesitation. I will make certain you hear his dying screams.

We await your reply,
