The following can be found as a published, scholarly work at any public library. Papers containing this research may also be found at reputable vendors of scholarly items, such as alchemists, reagent vendors, chemists, et cetera.

It is with an ironic amount of remorse that I take pen to this paper and write you all about the end of things and the inevitable eclipse.

I look up at the sky each night and gaze out in wondrous admiration for the grand architecture of the heavens and the stars. Look fondly upon the rivers, forests and beauty of the land and warm thoughts wash over me, but all is not right.

While some may think me a dreamer, I am foremost a scholar. Using my eye for keen observations, I noticed a troublesome trend over the past few weeks. It seems as if the moons themselves have waned with an air of permanence.

I recorded my observations. I waited for the full moons to occur, as the calendar had indicated correctly and marked this date on my calendar. I used a telescopic lens to make a measurement as to the size and "fullness" of each full moon. I continued this measurement every night that could, as in nights where it was not cloudy, every day until the New Moons.

I then made the same recording, making note of how full the moons became during each of their phases culminating in the next Full Moon. I then began my comparison of the sizes of the moons. Unfortunately, I seemed to be on to something. Comparing the relative intensity of the light reflected by the moon, as well as the apparent size and "fullness" of each phase of each moon it seemed that all data pointed to "a darkening" of our lunar friends.

Unable to think of any scientific cause for this strange happening I am left buried deep in the shadow of concern and regret. Regret for researching this foul mystery and concern for the consequences of what event seems to be effecting the cosmos itself, or at least our perception of it.

I am not a deeply religious man. I prefer science and the hard evidence it offers. I remain optimistic about the events that transpire, but I am not without my cautions. Many dark, unexplainable things lie in the far corners of this world and many sinister folk wander about. I will continue my observation and hope for a reversal of this trend but I implore people wiser than I in the ways of the world to turn their eye and ears skyward in hopes of bringing this unsettling mystery closer to resolution.
