The following is a formal introduction of the guild "The Damned" to the roleplay community...enjoy!:

In the wake of the collapse of the Order of the Ebon Skull and the destruction of the Ebon Skull itself, the surviving forces of Oblivion have been scattered to the far reaches of Sosaria and moved deep into hiding until now.

Darrien Church, former high-priest of the Order under the Lich Lord Admoreth has returned in recent months after being thought destroyed by his rivals, and former brethren Norture and Bailos in a violent bid for power. Fueled by a fanatical desire to increase his own ability as well as finish the work he started so long ago in Sosaria he has spent the last few months gathering followers as well as various relics of entropic power scattered and long thought lost from the ages of the Lich Lords Azalin and Nizar. Using what he could, as well as utilizing blackrock he suceeded in elevating himself to complete Lichdom and has fully realized his new identiy as the Lich Lord Axaris Nuzoth.

As the war between paladin and necromancer ravages Malas he seeks to use what power he has to open up a portal to beyond the shroud allowing for the Daemon Lord Beleth and a host of daemonic entities to flood Sosaria while aiding the followers of the Wraith Lord Bailos, his former foe in their quest to return their master fully to the Sosarian plane.

With the power of Oblivion waining, The Lich Lord hopes to call upon the aid of these two powerful beings to purge Sosaria of all life and bring it finally liberate it from the mortal coil.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OOC info:

Guild Name: The Damned

GM Council:
The Daemon Lord Beleth
The Lich Lord Darrien Church

Description: Lawful Evil Daemon/Undead religious cult bent on the ruination of Sosaria.

Current Members: 12-14

Memberiship: Most players role-play Daemons, Undead, or posessed mortal beings. The guild does have a small population of human slaves.

Recruiting: The guild does activly recruit, all players interested in creating a Daemonic Character or possessed character PM Beleth. All players interested in adding an already undead character or a character seeking undeath PM Darrien Church. All players are asked to fill-out a brief form, please PM Darrien Church for details.

Lore and Theology: All guild lore and theology is posted in our guild-forum and is being translated into IC texts.

Warring and Alliances: While in full agreement with the rules of this community The Damned is a guild of evil and not-so-human beings. We do not "play-nice", act with honor, tact or dignity on an IC level. We will not deal peacefully with most mortal-guilds and any light guilds at all, obviously.

OOC disputes: We ask that any player who has a dispute with membership or the guild at large contact a GM, or have their GM contact a GM in a private manner, such as PM or ICQ.

Role-Play Standards: The Damned does not make use of brackets, or any form of In-Game OOC communation with exception to Party, Alliance, or guild chat. Assume that members are IC at all times, if an OOC message needs to be relayed use party chat or an Out-of-Game medium.

Land Claims: The Guild does not claim any player-cities or NPC cities at this time. We will operate from a small player-built base of operations in an undisclosed location while holding several small homes well outside the borders of current guild-lands to act as staging grounds for various activities and rituals.

Please check our public forum for all guild lore, contact information and apllications.

Nizar emerges from the Obsidian Spire and inform his Chosen that he has devised a new spell that will snuff out all life on Sosaria and raise it into undeath. He calls this spell, simply, “Armageddon”.

Please clarify this? Is this the Armageddon spell from game? If so, did you know that it is a game fact that Zog got the spell from the wisps?

Also, I was curious about your usign the term "BC" or Before the Cataclysm. Please, define cataclysm. Was this a UO lore event or an RP fiction event?

I love the history, btw. I've read it in some of the old books or something, before.

I assume in their timeline, the cataclysm refers to the botched Convergence of Unmaking that made stygia go the way of OOC respect... I mean, the way of the dinosaur.

And err, I was sure it was the Convergence of Unmaking, not armageddon. I don't know when those two histories mixed, but I am having OES flashbacks of how dissapointed I was with newOES that so few actually learned what OES's goal was (convergence of unmaking = all of existance unmade, returns to oblivion) and just kinda did 'cackle u die weer ebil'.

We'll see though Wink

If you would be so kind to quote information within the relevant thread, it would be easier to explain. I was confused trying to figure out what you were asking because I read Darrien's post and saw no mention of it. It did finally click when I realized you were talking about the old OES timeline.

As for Nizar discovering a spell, these are in ages past, it is very possible for multiple beings to become aware of different magics through various means. In UO lore your right, Zog learned of the spell from the Black Wisps, in past OES Lore however, Nizar was made aware of the spell through different means. Keep in mind, we did not write the OES history, Azalin, Alucard, Treadue and several others (with MILD input from me) created the Nizar lore back in the day (I really had only a small say where Kabar, the first Death Knight, was concerned).

Cataclysm in OES-Nizar age terms was before the initial fall of Stygia, wherein the Cataclysm occured that destroyed the Stygian Empire he had forged and ended his reign as Lich Lord.

I just want to point out that it was rumored Mondain possesed a form of armageddon, or knowledge of how to go about creating such a spell. I bring this up only with the intent of acknowledging that its not a far stretch for oes lore to touch on somehting similar, especially with the concept of the convergence and so on and so forth.

Very Happy
Ultima lore on the topics:

Cataclysm
Upon the destruction of Exodus a great and powerful cataclysm shook the entire land of Sosaria totally reshaping the land into what we now called Britannia. Many people and beasts alike died in this great destructive time.

Zog
The name given to the oldest human remains. According to the wisps he cast the Armageddon Spell. There are rumors of a cult of Zog existing in another land, but these ideas are merely speculation.

The UO timeline (the events have been very different from those in the Ultima series) began roughly after Ultima 1. The current scenario seems to be in Ultima 6.

Also, keep in mind Ultima Online diverges from traditional Ultima's very early on as Orion stated. All the current guesstimates of dates and events that make up the Ultima Online timeline are written by independent sources, and many facts and associations are disputed amongst Ultima purists and historians alike.

I have yet to see a coherent history of Ultima Online backed up by indisputable facts be published directly from OSI (EA), I have seen a few creative compilations that derive their knowledge from official lore and a bit of creativity, but it is really "up in the air" so to speak.

Also keep in mind each shard has it's own lore after the shattering, and some events were drastically altered on Atlantic that were altered nowhere else, even some universal storylines were far different, most especially the Followers of Armageddon (Zog Cabal) scenario.
