[Temptation Waits]

Her eyes focused from the blurry haze as she slowly opened them. The room spun slightly as she awoke from the deep sleep. As she felt it slowly stop she perched herself upright in the bed. The key was still around her neck and she still wore the soft green robe. The soft sandstone walls seemed to glow a bit. Was she at the Palace? She blinked again and scanned the room. No she was not, she was some where else. Outside she heard a soft tapping and the door opened. A woman stood before her.

"Hello?", she asked her.

"You are awake"., she answered. "Good, hopefully you are feeling better now. I am Ivory. You were brought here after you passed out at Lady Tika's."

"I was? Where is my armor?"

"In the chest at the foot of the bed. The key around your neck will open it."

"Oh.", carefully she stood and realized the woman with her could not see by the stick she carried and how she made her way about the room. She slowly walked to the chest, her bare feet chilled by the cold floor. After opening it she began to pull out each piece of armor and lay it on the bed in a special order. She pulled the robe over her head and folded it gently, then placed it on the bed.

"I assume you feel better Lady Temptation. I brought you some food and water. Come outside when you are ready."

Tempt smiled and then asked, "How do you know my name?"

"Lord Gailan told me who you were."

Temptation became quiet, then answered, "I see." She pondered a moment then asked, "have you seen my kerchief?"

"I believe Lord Gailan has it.", Temptation looked at Ivory perplexed, then realized she couldn't see her expression. She sighed slightly, then assured Ivory she would talk to her before she left. She nibbled at the fruits, Ivory brought her as she systematically placed one piece of armor on at a time. With each piece she felt like she became safer. The armor had become her way of shielding herself.

The last few months made her a colder person. She channeled a lot of her energy now into just being a fighter and serving the Queen and Pharaoh. The past few days had made her realize how vulnerable she truly was. Now she wanted to bury it. Quickly she examined herself after she finished by putting on her gloves. After adjusting a lace here and there, she felt she was ready to exit.

She placed the folded robe in the chest and made sure the bed was neatly made. Gently, she picked up the tray with the empty plate and glass of water, then opened the door and closed it. Ivory was outside.

"You are finished?, she asked.

"Yes, thank you for your care.", she said as she handed the tray to Ivory.

Ivory smiled and waved her hand., "It was no bother."

"I must go and see Lady Tika, again thank you."

"Go see your friend if you need me again I am here. Lady Tika is at Lord Spawn's right behind me."

Temptation smiled and politely left the house and then walked to lady Tika's. As she went inside, no one was home, she decided to go downstairs and lie back down. Her head was still a little woozy and she couldn't tell if it was from the potions she was made to drink or the confusion over her kerchief or the talk she had with Gailan two nights before, in he exhausted state. Was it a dream or was it real...she closed her eyes hoping it was just make sense when she woke up.
