She cried bitterly in the dark her tears of blood slipping softly down her cheeks. She sat on the floor, in the comfortably furnished house lost in her misery. She had thought she had been so careful. She had thought that her hardened heart would protect her. Yet she had failed. She had succumbed to a love so strong it had blindsighted her. She the artist, with her keen eyes and her graceful hands had failed to see what was clearly drawn out before her.

She shook her head in despair, she would have never guessed he would just leave her. Never guessed that he would leave without so much as saying goodbye. She tugged at the ring on her finger angrily holding up his silent broken promise in front of her eyes.
Her pain held so sweetly in one small symbol. She had been patient. She had waited for him endlessly. The hours turning into achingly long days.

She took a deep shaky breath and picked her distraught form up off the floor. It was time. It was time to devote her energies into something of use. Necromancy was her calling, she was bright and gifted mage and she desired power as was common of her clan. They had been coaxing her for quite some time to begin her training.

Slowly she dressed in her leather armour and pulled on her gloves. She stared out at the quiet and peaceful night before her. She laid a picture on his desk, her final piece of artwork for him. It was of a beautiful setting sun the colors lighting up the sky as once their love had. She laid her engagement ring by it.

Stifling a sob she looked around the house, so many dreams, so many possibilities. She could almost hear the sounds of their childrens voices as they raced excitedly down the hall to welcome home their father.

A shaky voice broke the darkness. Goodbye my love, I will always love you but it is time for me to move on.

With that she quietly closed the door to the keep, as well as a finished chapter of her life.
