Clarification of Sanctus Necromancy Policies and Punishments

There is much confusion and misunderstanding around the realm as to the nature of the necromancy policies and punishments of the Kingdom of Sanctus. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify our position.

We in Sanctus view necromancy as inherently evil. However, we do not martially enforce this outside of our own borders.

We have procedures in place for dealing with necromancy in our lands.

Necromancers are tolerated in Sanctus as long as they do not openly practice their arts within our borders, which extend from the Luna bridge to the last cave before one enters the Umbran continent.

We are tolerant of the first offense. The offending necromancer is extensively warned of our laws and escorted from our lands.

We believe that the use of necromancy corrupts the land, and wish it not to be used while in Sanctus. Upon the second offense, after the necromancer has been warned and escorted out, they are taken into custody and put to trial.

If the evidence against the necromancer is unquestionable, they are given the chance to renounce their practice or be banished from Sanctus. If they refuse both options, they receive the death penalty.

We understand that the death penalty may be considered extremely harsh by others. However, we reserve the right to enforce our laws and protect our people within the borders of our sovereignity.

I hope this clarifies things for the larger realm. Thank you for your time and attention.

Signed,

Lord Talon Skyfire
King of Sanctus
