Why were we fighting these snakes again? Shade impatiently pushed her blade into the stomach of the creature. She was so frustrated, the silly things refused to die, she had stood here soaked in their blood fighting for hours. Frankly she was bored, she knew the mission was important. She knew they had a good purpose but her motivation was seriously lacking. She really didn’t care about the silly snakes.

Pausing a moment she realized that this may indeed be a good time to try out her new spell that she had been working so hard on. It was unconventional but had worked well on snakes. With a quick utterance of the words of power a red light shot out at the creature the ruby ring on her finger glowing softly. Surprise warranted on its face as she knew she had at last mastered the spell. Her teacher would be so pleased….

The creature began to writhe as she and other members of her group continued to tirelessly stab it. She thought to herself angrily, try escaping your own boiling blood you filthy snake. No healer can help you with that, and I believe Xandria is taking care of the healer as we speak. She gave a soft chuckle.

Soon after, the beast fell and another came at them, she smiled with a bit more enthusiasm, as she could hardly wait to try casting again,…
