Keldril hastily gathered his things and made for the door of his keep. He had been home mere minutes, only enough time to send a raven to announce his imminent arrival at the royal palace and to freshen up a bit. His recent travels had kept him away far too long. He longed for the feel of Ishtar's body pressed against his, the smell of her hair. These thoughts carried him euphorically out his front door...

The blades were pressed firmly against his throat, one drawing a nick of blood, before he even sensed the presence of danger. Silently he cursed his lack of attention and thought longingly of the kryss hanging safely at his belt. He stared calmly at the two drow holding him at bay and considered his options. A third drow chuckled as he moved into view and sneered at his helpless captive, "The mighty Keldril Kil'ana. So unfortunate that you were captured so easily. I had hoped for a small demonstration of your prowess. I suppose I will have to find some small satisfaction in watching you squirm and beg for your life instead."
"You may yet get your wish. It appears, however, that I am at a slight disadvantage...you know my name but I have no idea who you are." Kel smirked in response. The stranger nodded thoughtfully, "It should be enough that I am here on behalf of your dear mother and that she will be most pleased when I return you home to her." Kel grinned and suppressed a chuckle, "So my mother has found a new play thing and you think returning me to her will gain her further good graces?" Anger flashed across the face of his captor. "Your return alone would mean nothing but perhaps the head of your filthy elven lover would interest your dear mother." He spat as he tossed Kel's raven at his feet.

Rage consumed Kel. With lightening speed he ducked backward and grabbed the blades pressed against his throat, ignoring the deep gashes that stretched across his palms. With simultaneous thrusts he forced his captors to stab each other and stepped over them, ignoring the gurgling sound of their dying breath. "It seems you will taste my prowess afterall." he sneered as he walked slowly toward the remaining drow assailant. "Say when."

Before the conversation could continue Kel's kryss had opened slices on either side of his opponent's face and severed his sword hand at the wrist. Kel smirked as his foe turned to run. "No survivors to report home to mother." he mumbled to himself as his leafblade appeared from its wrist sheath in his nimble fingers. He was turning to inspect the two corpses behind him before the blade struck home at the base of the leader's skull. He hastily checked the bodies and retrieved his blade before rushing to the royal palace to see if Ishtar was safe and unharmed.

She sat in her quarters in meditation. She hoped it would help her relax since she recieved word that Kel was on his way. Suddenly the door to her quarters burst open and she was startled from her meditative state. Quickly she stood up and turned to see Kel.

"My love, are you all right." she asked him as she eyed him carefully.

He gave her a grin and nodded "yes".

She moved closer to him and noticed some spattered blood on his clothes and skin. She touched some of it rubbing it between her fingers and looked up at him. "This does not look like all is well and that you are all right. What happened?"

He let out a "sigh" and told her of his attack and that her existance was known at least by the few sent to get him. She paled with the news. As she took a deep breathe and made her way to the bed to sit down. Kel moved closer and helped her sit down. She put her arms around him and held him close.

With her eyes closed she knew the future for her now may be treacherous. A tear fell from her eyes as she held Kel and wondered what may become of them now...
