She rode at an easy pace under the stars of the night sky. Isis knew the way from Kel's keep to the Palace now and could make the journey easily. She left the keep early as not to distract Kel from his training. He said he would join her at the Palace later on after he was done.

Her mind wandered as they trod along the dirt path. She wondered why Jode had mode no attempt at contact since she cast the magic spell to give him a voice. In a way she missed the debates and conversations they used to have. She considered Jode a friend and did enjoy his company. When she heard of his death she was saddened. She took a deep breath and focused on the road ahead.

She was almost home and coming upon the crossroads outside of Skara. Isis stopped abruptly. Looking around she calmed Isis trying to quiet her to see what causing the uneasiness. As she listened, she heard a faint hissing. A sound she was hearing more often here. Ophidians were near. "Wretched monsters," she said to herself. Not in the mood to battle she had Isis take a route through the forest instead.

The detour added far more time to her travel then she wanted as she approached the Palace. She was very tired and all she could think about was some jasmine tea and a warm bath to soak the grit from the road away. She handed Isis' reigns the watchman and made her way inside.

As she entered her chambers she was happy to see a hot bath waiting and the tea on her dresser. She sent her falcon ahead and was happy the servants got the message. She took a sip of her tea with a relaxing smile. Letting out a slight "sigh" she put the cup down and removed her armor. Carefully she sunk into the warm water.

Her eyes closed she thought about the past few days of events. SO much has gone on. Her relationship with Kel was blossoming into something more than she could have ever hoped for. Hopefully, now Jode may be able to express what he needs. Yet in the back of her mind questions still lingered....

"How will this affect Kel and herself? Can she help free Jode? Is he ever going to tell her what happened or what he needs? It was too much to think about. She tried to stop thinking of all the unanswered questions and sunk deeper in the water. All she could do is hope the future would reveal itself soon...

Finally able to realize his surroundings, even as a mere spirit, Jode soon learned that he was extremely limited in necessary abilities due to one fact that had remained unimportant during the time of his existence in the physical plain.

Religion.

What Jode had now realized, among other things, was that from what he had known he was only able to hold his presence among the outer recesses of Ishtar's mind, for further and further into the core shined a brillaint light of that which held darkness at bay. From what Jode could assume, Ishtar's mind had only been granted this protection from her faith to her god. It shined brillaintly throughout her mind, and quite beautifully did it shine to guard what Jode surely thought was the very concious thoughts and workings of the woman herself. From time to time, he would venture towards the light in hopes to break through this holy barrier and somehow tap, if only slightly, that core, but it did not work.

Between those endeavors, however, Jode began to notice something about himself that he did not like. From what seemed like hours upon hours of existence within this woman's mind, Jode could tell that he was losing apart of himself that he had only gained by having been merged by his former host, Dan. Knowing this, it worried him, and due to this internal change within himself Jode knew that he had to think back on how this could be happening...

From what Jode knew, he had been spawned from the pure dark energies of Oblivion itself, and from those energies, once combined with Dan, the energies fused within the man's mind and thus came from the tretches the being that he was now. His ideals of mandatory conflicts, mixed with the soft sentimentals of passive acceptance, gave him the ideas of how to live and "The Balance" philosophy. However, now that he was seperate from Dan, he could slowly feel his ideals changing and he himself was losing the form that had once belonged to him. His care for method, for "reminding" the people of this world of how things truly worked, slowly began to dissapated with what remained as a means of a forced solution to what he, and only he, knew what was right and how they were wrong.

...Jode crouched down within the mystic realm of Ishtar and clutched his tense hands on the sides of his head, shaken with panic as the idea surged into his own mind as well. "What am I to become...", he whispered to himself, and on that note he moved his hands down before his eyes to look upon them for any evident changes in his appearance.

From what was once a left hand, and a right hand of runic, tribal, circular markings of oblivion infused corruption, now remained only two claws from which seemed to be transparent and deadly. As Jode sat, in terror of his own long term and gradual transformation, he squeezes his eyes shut of what, for the first time, seemed to strike a cold blow to his heart...

...Fear...

...and all the meanwhile, Ishtar reached out to the philosopher she had once known, trying to reach to the man she had come to know only to soon find a shell of another being yet to be born...
