|
Written on the finest Nujel'm parchment, the Queen pens a letter to Lord Isk.
Dearest Isk,
I trust you were able to over come your hostilities with me and become the loving husband you are towards Angelique. I assure you that nothing underhanded was done or meant by my actions. Angelique is like a sister to me in many ways and I only wished to protect her from harm.
Coming across her when I did was a surprise and then finding out she had no memory of you, your children nor Humanis gave me pause. But my warm feelings towards you and your family made me quickly overcome my hesitation.
I had no way of aiding her to regain her memory, nor was I willing to let her just leave my protection. I had no other choice but to make her part of the Royal house. Her station is one of power and status, surely you can see no slight in that. For I honor you and her with her appointment as my Lady in Waiting.
When the day arrives that you are able to aid her in remembering her past it will be her free choice to continue on which ever path she wishes. I will fully understand that my humble offer for her to join the House of De'Fiona as a maiden could be revoked and in all sense of reality will be. I will not take back what I freely gave and will always extend my friendship to you and your family.
Given your outburst of anger towards me and accusations of trickery, I can only send you this message of hope and friendship by pen. Know this my Lord Isk, my actions were of those of a friend, not a devilish elf who wishes to take what is yours. I had hoped you would have gained insight through our mutual experiences that I am unlike your ideal elf but last night reminded me that you are unable to see the woman behind the elf.
Give my best wishes to Angelique, her rightful place is by your side as a fulfilled woman. However or wherever that may lead her, let her freely travel down her own path.
With my humble offer of friendship,
Sarah |
