Royal Court of Light And Her Most Esteemed Members,


With a heavy a heart The Ministry of the Free Peoples of Umbra must deliver you this official political document. On Thursday, June 22nd The Lord High Pontifex Bailos Myrdra, speaking as a duly elected official for the People of Southern Malas, delivered a request to the Royal Court of Light. Recognizing the Royal Court's claim to the Treefellow Forest, Umbra implored the Court to solve the crisis and aid the citizens of the area in a timely manner. Your Court has failed to act in the better interest of the people that it claims responsibility for.

We know the follow;
-The Treefellows have gone berserk, attacking anyone
-Many attacked are citizens of the Umbra Region
-Umbra recognizes this problem
-Umbra delivered a request for aid for those claiming responsibility
-A 48 hour deadline was issued by Umbra
-Those 48 hours have passed
-Nothing has been done
-Umbra has taken notice

And so, having closed the 48 hour window it is the solemn answer of the Peoples of Umbra that the Royal Court should recind its claim of lordship over the Treefellow forest and return it to the watchful, and more importantly helpful gaze, of Umbra. Effective immediately, numerous charitable and governmentally based organizations are clammoring to lend aid to the distressed occupants of the Forest region under the direct orchestration of Umbra.

Further more, The City of Umbra is assuming responsiblity for all lands of the Southern Continent stretching from the End of the World, to the East of Umbra, and ending at the bridge marking the begining of the Broken Continent at the Eastern Edge.

Umbra and her people wish to still recognize the holdings of several members of the Royal Court of Light in the effected area. Umbra wishes the Royal Court to know that the protection of the Treefellow Forest will not require these Court members to vacate their holdings. Furthermore, the Esteemed Members of the Court occupying the Treefellow Forest Region are welcomed to seek aid from Umbra. Umbra values are her peoples equally and would honor the opportunity to serve those in need.

Please be informed that a military presence will be made use of and maintained in order to protect the entire span of control for Umbra. This includes a military concentration in order to combat the Treefellow problem in the Forest Region. Any interferance with Umbran opperations from Royal Court forces or members will be treated as an act of agression against Umbra and her peoples and as such, will be grounds for hostile response.

Finally, it is the personal opinion of many Council members that Luna and the Royal Court of Light should focus more on protecting and maintaining the lands closer to her. The atrocious response time and pathetic effort shown by Luna in responding to the plight of those they claim responsiblity for displays far too publicly that Luna's arm is not nearly as long as you might think it is. It would be in your best interests to leave government and protection to a geographically logical entity.

The letter came by a messenger to the Royal Court of Light Hall and was received by the clerk on duty. It had an official marking of the City of Umbra. The clerk sent of a pigeon to Shihan immediately. Arriving Shihan went immediately to the office and took the correspondence and read it. “Hmmmm, the Royal Court members are not going to like this.”

Getting the scribes to make several copies of it for the members he places it with the daily reports and collects some papers to go see the Duchess.

On his way out the door he met Dame Kalamity. She smiled and said “just the person I was looking for.”

“Oh” Shihan was a little busy and wanted to get to the Duchess.

“Yes, the Lady Molly has asked me to come to the her residence and she wanted me to bring you.” Her voice chimed as she spoke.

“Good, I needed to drop of reports anyway. This is good timing. Shall we?” and Shihan walked outside and created a moongate in front of him on the ground.

Entering the official residence a voice from call down from the upper levels, “please come up to the top level.” Molly’s voice resonated in the halls. Taking his reports he placed them on the desk and followed Kalamity to the teleporters.

Teleporting to the top level the entered her private garden they met the Duchess who was beaming, and a quick look around presented some very obvious changes. Both Kalamity and Shihan looked around and were pleased with the new look. “Very nice Mlady.” Shihan offered to his liege. The conversation went on about decorating for a little then the Duchess asked if there was any reports for the day.

“I left them on the desk downstairs Mlady. Would you like me to retrieve them?” Shihan asked.

“I will read them in a few minutes.” The Duchess responded. “Is there anything important?”

“The only real important correspondence was from the City of Umbra saying that a deadline that was set at the last meeting has passed and they seem to have annexed all of the land up to the Orc Fort Caves.” Explained Shihan, “I believe Lord Porthos was to look into this matter but I have not seen any correspondence to the situation from him.”

The Duchess furled her brow. “How are they suppose to let us look into a problem in such short notice. We need to hold an emergency meeting of the Royal Court as soon as possible. Please write up a message to all Royal Court members that we need a meeting. Give it to me and I will sign it and we can send it out.”

“Yes Mam” Shihan said as he took a few quick notes.

“It is late and I need some sleep. I will check the court for duty rosters for the meeting Sir. Reckoning.” Kalamity said.

“That is fine, have a good evening Miss Kalamity.” Shihan said, “Duchess I will draft the letter and get it to you this evening. By your leave Mam.”

“Good evening Kalamity, and that is fine Shihan.” She said as she nodded.

He turned and followed Kalamity out and went to write a emergency meeting letter.

Accepting the letter from Shihan she read it over noding. She looked up at him and said, "I have a few minor changes but this is great. Thank you for your help." He nodded to her and she said he could head out if he wished. He did so saying, "Buy your leave MeLady." She nodded and he headed for the teleporter and home.

She sat with the letter and made the changes. She handed it to the scribe she awakened. She told him it was urgent and he sould make a dozzen copies sending them from the group of pigeons housed in the coup labled 'The Royal Court'. He nodded and began to feverishly scrive the copies.

She retired to her quarters where Will was already resting and reading a book. She kissed his cheek and took the book laying it on the table. "We have some things to talk over that are most urgent." He looked concerned but nodded. They talked for a while before retiring.

Greetings Lords and Ladies of the Royal Court,

It is with a heavy heart and worried mind that I must request an emergency meeting of the Court. I have received a letter from Bailos containing some most disturbing news. This emergency meeting will be heald at half past nine in the evening by the eastern sky, on Monday. The location for this meeting for security purposes must remain a secret until I hear back from each of you. Upon your reply I will send you a rune to the location. I do realize it is very short notice but this is a very dangerous situation that we need to address as quickly as possible. We may need aid from other sources and our stratagy must be agreed upon before Tuesday night's meeting of the Regency. Please respond as quickly as possible so we may proceed with this.
