Research log. The Administration of Mystical Sciences.
====================================
Entry Log 9:06, June 21st. Edmund Freese, Director.
-Several days ago we received a guideline directing us to setup research in regards to various destructive magics. Today that research began. R&D requested data and observations on the forces present in both caster and in/around the object when various items are "crushed" by magic.
Experiment: We have selected 36 boulders all approximately two cubic feet in size. We have positioned them on a surface that is 5 inches deep of sand, sitting on top of a stone floor, in an adequately sized research facility with a closed roof.
Control: We have hired a brute and given him a typically crafted sledge hammer. He has been assigned 3 rocks from with which to attack, with an overhand smash of the hammer. Instruments and psychics are employed to read the forces at work, and measure their degree of intensity flowing through the man, and through the rock. The broken boulders willl be send to R&D for further analysis.
Entry Log, 10:40, June 22nd. Edmund Freese, Director.
- Anaylsis of control group is complete. R&D believes they have sufficient data to proceed. Groups 2-4 are being setup. We have hired 3 different mages each claiming to specialize in similar fields...destructive magic. Mage1 will attempt to crush the boulder with an explosive spell; Mage2 with siesmic attacks; Mage3 with telekinetic energy [i.e., slam boulder into wall].
Entry Log, 12:38, June 22nd. Edmund Freese, Director.
- Each Mage has performed 3 times. All datas have been recorded. Scientists are requesting that a 4th attempt be made with sound waves.
Entry Log, 13:55, June 22nd. Edmund Freese, Director.
- Thankfully The Academy has several students in training who employ illusion based sound waves as part of their repetoire. Tests were quickly completed on 3 boulders. Analysis is finishing.
Entry Log, 15:02, June 22nd. Edmund Freese, Director.
- Add data have been gathered and organized. Sent to R&D formally for report. Waiting further instruction.
Entry Log, 10:47am, June 23rd. Edmund Freese, Director.
- R&D believes they have found what they are looking for. What it is, we have not been alerted to, but we have been instructed to continue testing with siesmic and telekinetic energies with several different subjects. Telekinetics will be difficult to come by. Curiously enough, we were told not to read or record the data from the telekinetics crushing the boulders at all. We are to solely observe the energies at work when levitating the boulder. I have recorded my personal thoughts on a seperate piece of paper and will submit them for review with my final report.
