Shades patience had worn thin, but then there was nothing new about that. Alright Nightshade, try casting the spell again, it sounded odd to call another her name.

Entering the mind of the puppet she watched from behind its eyes, pushing the spirit within to gently raise its arm, and speaking in her own voice it said In Sar. Shade felt a rush of her power channel thru the puppet and the spell cast upon its victim sucking away his last breath as he screamed from shock and pain. The peasant fell over at the feet of the puppet, and Nightshade rose from her chair in the corner. At Last! You at least can now do a simple necromancy spell, excellent! She stared at her puppet, into her own eyes, almost expecting it to cock a wry grin at her. Its face remained emotionless. Shade laughed, silly me, come puppet we will work on facial expressions, I can not have you running around blank faced. Walking forward she shoved the peasant out of her way with her foot feeling a few of its bones snap as she often forgot her strength. Peering closely into the puppets face, she smiled at it and waited for her command to reach the spirit within. The puppet slowly smiled, a bit woodenly but none the less a smile. Aaah the only flaw I see is reaction time, people might think you a bit slow to respond. Sighing she said, oh well perhaps it will improve. Perhaps I can come up with a spell that would make some of my mannerisms more natural to the puppet without having to command each thing.

Alright, I suppose that is enough for tonight. The puppet turned and walked to a chair in the corner sitting down upon it. You may go and wander spirit I shall summon you if I have need. The puppets arms dropped limply and the appearance of life left it, its frame now resting haphazardly in the chair, slumping over the head rolling off to one side.

Nightshade climbed into her bed picking up her favorite book, she continued on to the next chapter scanning the text for the information she sought. She realized her act of going to bed was useless as she would likely not sleep and she rose once more moving to her desk. She started to write furiously glancing from her book back to her writings. The hours grew long but Shade cared little about sleep, determination shining in her eyes.
