"It was the only answer...the only way to free myself from him...

As Dan laid back within the now collapsing void which had held his spirit at bay for so long, he began to take control of what he could in his old body. The shadows of Oblivion were finally disapating from Jode's pain, his anguish, and in the void of what was shadow was a bright red light that caused him to squint his own eyes.

Lumination spread all around him, and now the final alter in Dan's reality was death, as his senses began to fade all around him. As he stood tall once again, he could feel the pain reach into his mind with an onslaught reaped only from, or so he could remember, what should have been his backside. His murderer, a smile written upon the humanoid's face, stood back with great pleasure as the dagger took its toll upon the well-being of his body. As Dan stood there, in his own mental realm in the middle of it all, a form quickly materialized not too far from him. It was Jode, his grey hair finally free from the bandana that bound it. That bandana,Dan's bandana, seemed to bring a smile upon his killer's face as it slipped it away. As the bright luminious red that surrounded the both of them now slowly faded away, dying, Jode finally snapped to his senses to the final moments of his being.

Slowly, Jode stood up to, stumbling to his feet from it all, and then turned to finally regard Dan for what he had done. Dan looked towards him and simply smiled, for his plan had finally brought the end to Jode Bonewits, despite the commonground he had found with his dark entity of himself. The red around them faded darker..and darker, as their spirits lost touch with the world and began the body began its decay into the next.

Jode: "I hope your happy, for now you have doomed the both of us so that we may never bring my dream to a reality, of a perfect conflict in which all sides may prosper. I can only hope that with the book I had written up, there may someday be a disciple whom might follow the teachings and one day bring my dream to a reality"

Dan: "You cannot force someone to recognize your dream Jode Bonewits, because that kind of thinking has brought all of the tyrants of history to their knees. Know this, that you have served a purpose in the grand scale of things in hopes that someday one might recognize whatever mistakes you may have made, and can learn from them to bring about a better world for us all"

Jode: "You would think so, but even if magics were to bring you back to this world that is so quickly slipping out of our grasp, I would see it that you would face me again, perhaps not as I but as my soul forever written within the etches of literature. I hope my entity that I have etched into those of capable hands will bring doom to you and your silly games of no meaning"

Dan: "Philosopher though you are, perhaps your own etching of your identity would be the very downfall of the single virtue you deemed worthy of worship Jode Bonewits, because if you truly had peace of mind that your philosophy was the correct way to bring happiness to all, then that should have been enough for you, enough to know and simply to know, even if you alone knew it."

Jode: "Hmph...and what will you do if you "are" to be brought back within this world? How will you deal with the constant question of what could have happened if they would be kept you dead and out of their lives? I know that you will wish for death the very instant you bring unhappiness to others, and we both know that neither of us can truly keep all of them at such a state of harmony."

The red dimmed itself to nearly a perfect tone of black, signifying that death was on its breach towards the body's mind and the both of them would both take their seperate paths towards the netherworld.

Dan: "I will not let my regrets direct my life, Jode Bonewits. I will follow my own path and never look back behind my past, because it is something that you cannot change. No, Jode Bonewits, I will live my life however I wish, without the consent of whom it may or may not help or prove harm towards. I will live, Jode, I will live."

Jode: "You would have lived, Dan, but even I know that from what I have done, your friends will never ressurect such a potential fiend as yourself. I have doomed you!"

Dan: "Friends forgive Jode, friends forgive.

..and with that, the darkness shrouded the both of them as their spirits carried them apart towards the netherworld. As they made their seperate journeys, Dan's spirit clung to the only home his mind could know, the only woods he could be at peace. The enchanted woods of the lands of Sanctus, whereas Jode's spirit wandered to parts unknown.
