Shade poured the blood within the cauldron a mixture of Mimus’s and her own. A mark on her stomach carved with a dagger, still bled and gave her pain. Yet she would not heal it.

Puppet of shadow, dispels the light,
My guardian creature holds ghostly fright
Protect me now my enemies fool
My face to look upon, till tempers cool.

A soft mist filled the room and swirled about her learning her form, covering her eyes, lips, and body making a mold of her flesh. It cast itself a form upon the doll she had set on the floor, growing to her size, a wooden mass of stiffness at first, then the binds of her flesh rising over it covering its hidden core. It knelt before her and she closed her palm summoning her captured ghost to her, bidding it enter the puppet.

My master wanders in the shadows core,
My masters bidding I will obey,
Till my masters death is here, I kneel to floor
To protect the dark art I shall stay.

Nightshades eyes gleamed as the puppet knelt down before her, as she stood exhausted the moon shining down upon her back.

Nightshade stood waiting impatiently in the foyer of Xandria's house. Staring off into the shadows she smiled softly, her pride in her achievement great. She could hear the dainty clicks of Xandria's shoes on the stone walk outside her home. As Xandria opened the door a green blur flew thru the room at her, confused she cast a paralyzing spell and there stood Shade's face strangely upturned into a smile. Nightshade? are you ill? The joy on Shades face was terribly disconcerting, no wryness or sarcasm in her face. Releasing the paralyzing spell Shade sprung back into action laughing and hugged her friend tightly. I have done it Xandy!

Done what? Suddenly her ears picked up the soft rustling sound of footsteps and out of a door popped another Shade. Xandria's mouth dropped. Oh goodness Shade what have you done. Shade laughed and spun around in a strange giddy way, the double following the same movements. Whatever posessed you to think, we wanted two of you, I have my hands full with the one that you are. Shade laughed, pulled out her blade and with a swift motion cut off the doubles head. The Puppet shattered, the sound of porcelain breaking and falling to the floor. Xandria stepped back surprised. What the! Stop this instant you are making a mess on the floor. Nightshade winked at her, trust me Xandy, watch. The headless puppet rose the peices that had shattered flying back into place. Xandria's eyes lit up. I see now, I understand. Shade nodded. We will have to make one for each of you, I want this protection for you and Cissa as well. Xandria tilted her head, let us go and talk, and you can explain to me how you did this. We will send word to Cissa immediately, as well.

Shade nodded and turned her face toward the puppet closing her eyes, it turned and left the room sitting on a stool in the corner, till it was called for once more.
