A strange looking parrot soars into the door of the palace, hitting it and falling to the ground with a loud thud. Shaking itself to its senses and getting to its feet, it quickly turns to face the door and hops in a derranged manner, making consistently loud and irritaiting calls.

The letter on the ground infront of the door reads:
(In a barely ledgible hand writing)
Ta ye rich palace ownin people,

Ah spotted yer princess ere' and she wusn' too cooperatev so meh kidnapped er'. Ah saw tha insides a yer palace and knuw ye got things worth much more'n gold. Ah demand sum o yer most finest jewels and them books with all tha gold on em. If yer willin ta make a trade n send a response lettar off wit' this parrot. Tha longer ye take tha longer i'll have wit tha princess.

The Lady Medjie found the ruffled parrot and promptly brought the note to the Queen.

The Queen's eyes scanned it re reading it to make sure she understood it. While she sat at her desk she picked up her quill and in her delicate script replied:

Captain,

I would like to make arrangements for the safe return of my sister. Perhaps we can come to terms we both agree too. I expect a prompt answer. I would like proof that she is unharmed with your next contact.

She handed her note back to the Lady Medjie who carefully rolled it and attached it to the parrot. Then took a wafer for it and fed the poor bird before releasing it from the Queen's balcony...

The next day the same derranged parrot returns to the palace door, making loud and obnoxious calls. Clutched in one of its feet is a scroll bound with a ring.

how be this ring fer yer proof? If tha wunt do Ah'l find somethin else, mebee the finger it was on eh? Lets make tha trade tomorro eve, ahl send word of the exact time an place onlee shortlee afore tha trade is ta happen.

When the ring was brought to her she carefully examined it...it was Ishtar's complete with a royal seal of the Eye of Ra. She held it close to her and felt a small bit of relief. She sat at her desk and wrote back:

Dred Captain,

Let me know where and when and it will be arranged. Either the Pharoah or myself will be there. Please keep her untouched and unharmed.
