Jolicia had been keeping herself rather busy lately with moving into her new, much larger home. Due to the untimely death of DeSiree, Poet was willed the Garden of Sin and in turn he handed his house down to Jolicia. Her and Jezabel had been working several days trying to get everything moved in and setup. It was finally starting to look in order somewhat with the exception of a couple of areas. Jolicia had decided to take a small break and went up to third floor where she had set up a small memorial of Brian, Baeleron, and the Brotherhood. She sat down looking around and began to think back to that last day that she saw Brian when Jezabel came in holding a letter. She held it out to Jolicia, "It was just dropped off for you." Jolicia nodded to her and said thank you, taking the letter and slowly opening it, beginning to read...
Dear Jolicia,
I hope all is fairing well with you and that you are starting to heal from your inner deamons. You are a strong young woman and can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it.
I'm sending this to you to let you know that it's time. Take what I passed on to you before my departure and make it grow. I know you will do your best and know that you have already made me proud. Take care of yourself sister.
With Love,
Brian
...Jolicia let out a heavy sigh staring at the parchment and thought back to that last conversation her and Brian had... It had seemed like only yesterday she met with him at the guildhouse. The two of them had sat on the roof talking for hours, Brian trying to help her figure out what to do next. She had felt so lost on where to go and he hinted at the idea of her possibly starting up a guild of her own. She remembered not really paying too much attention to it and simply told him that it just wouldn't be the same without him. That was when he had had her follow him back down to the meeting room where he sat down in his chair at the head of the room. She had originally sat down in the benches, as usual, when he had asked her to sit next to him in Baeleron's old chair. She had sat down next to him as he began to talk, "I've told everyone I don't want the stone to go to anyone, but that's not entirely true. I am very reluctant to break something that means so much to me." She had looked at him slightly confused, seeing him having troubles getting the words out, "I want you to have it..."
She remembered her mouth dropping and that her eyes started to fill with tears barely being able to speak, "I would be honored."
He had went on naming a few stipulations about him passing the stone down to her to which she had agreed. She remembered her brain filling with so many questions, asking him why her, she didn't know if she could do it. He had just smiled softly wiping a few of the tears off her cheeks, "I have been watching all of you for the last week... seeing who I felt was the one person I wanted for it and well... you fit perfectly." She was speechless and just looked at him as he transferred control of the stone to her and showed her how to get the small transporter ball for when it was time to bring it back out. He had hugged her one last time saying goodbye and to do the Brotherhood justice, make it a family again...
Jezabel watched Jolicia in her seeming trance, beginning to worry as to what the letter pertained too, "Jo? Are you alright?"
Jolicia shook her head quickly, rolling the letter back up and placing it in her pack. She stood up and walked over to a locked box in the corner, opening it and pulling out the guildstone teleporter. She gazed at it in her hand as she turned back around and walked over to the area she had prepared for the stone. She placed it on the floor as her and Jezabel watched the stone rise up to it's original state. Jolicia ran her hand over the top of the stone, everything still not setting in yet. There was so much work to be done now and it would be a long road ahead. She turned around towards Jezabel, "It's time..." |
