Vaen glanced around, completely confused as to where he was. He didn't remember much, but then again, he didn't know he knew nothing of his past. Confusing as it may sound, Vaen had no idea he didn't know what he once knew.

He entered the gypsy tavern, where he was met by Angelique.

"Greetings, Sir!" she said.

"Sir," Vaen thought, "that must be my name. For, she seems nice. Nice enough to greet me. Yes. Sir is my name. Vaen nodded to her and smiled.

"Would you like something to drink? The bar is well stocked." Angelique said.

Vaen thought for a moment, and then said, "Well stocked?"

She nodded, and then proceeded to explain what they had to offer. All the while, Vaen couldn't help but look around and examine everyone else. When he had finished examining the room, he turned to Angelique. "Who are you?"

"Why, I am Angelique, wife of Isk."

"What is an Isk?"

Angelique was interupted by another tavern-goer before she could answer the question. At that moment, Angel appeared at the Tavern and walked over to Vaen. She too must have seen one of the hundreds of rune stones scattered across the land, and decided to give it a try.

"Vaen!" Angel said with a smile, walking towards him.

Vaen looked around, and didn't say anything.

"Vaen?" Angel walked towards him, obviously looking at him. Vaen looked to her. "Are you alright, Vaen?"

Vaen looked to her.

"My name is Sir. It is not Vaen."

Angel seemed worried, and motioned Vaen to come talk with her by the bar. She proceeded to explain to him that he was Vaen, and that he must have suffered the same memory loss that Alexander had the night before. Vaen wasn't having it.

"My name is Sir!"

She continued trying to explain, but Vaen had opened his book of chivalry and began browsing through the pages. He came across one of the spells, and muttered a phrase.

"Divinium Furis!"

Vaen was instantly filled with a new power and speed.

"WOW!!!" he exclaimed, feeling the power surge through him. "Wow...!!!" He began running all around the tavern, and then outside. He found himself running so fast, but eventually it wore off. Vaen browsed through his runebooks and saw a name that was somewhat familiar to him, but he wasn't sure why. So he proceeded to mutter the words inscribed under the location named "Hanse's."

"Kal Ort Por!" Nothing happened. "Vas Rel Por!" Nothing happened. Vaen seemed annoyed. "Sanctum Viatus!" Vaen was instantly teleported to Hanse's Hostel, where Angel had relocated to as well. He sat outside as Angel and another woman by the name of Rumnim tried to convince Vaen who he was and that he had lost his memory. At this moment, Mark Randerstill had come into the area, and spectated the scene. After getting an idea of what had happened, he approached the group.

"Vaen! Buddy!" Mark said with a confident smile. "We were worried sick about you! Where were you last night?"

Vaen seemed confused, but seemed to finally accept that his name was Vaen. "I guess my name really is Vaen."

Angel nodded, and said "I told you, it is Lord Vaen Swiftar."

"Sir Lord Vaen Swiftar" Vaen thought.

"That is you, my friend. We, the Humanis, were worried that you wouldn't make it! You are one of our prized companions, you know!" Mark smiled.

"Mark... not now..." Angel muttered. Mark seemed to ignore her.

"Come inside, Vaen. We have much to talk about!" Mark said.

Vaen nodded, and followed him inside to the back.

"So, you remember nothing, mm?" Mark said.

Vaen nodded, finally accepting that he has lost some of his memory.

"That is too bad. We really were worried sick. We, the Humanis cause!"

"Humanis?"

"Yes, we are brothers. You and I. I am Mark Randerstill!"

"Brothers," Vaen thought, "So my name is Sir Lord Vaen Swiftar Randerstill...?"

"Don't you remember? You joined the Humanis cause after your parents were murdered by Elves."

"My parents were murdered?!"

Mark nodded. "Yes, indeed. And you joined with us to avenge their deaths. They will tell you that I am lieing to you, Vaen. You cannot believe them. I am your friend, your brother. I would not lie to you. That man outside, Alexander, he had pointy ears. He was an elf. As well as that Rumnim girl. Elf. They are evil, you must remember."

Vaen nodded. "Ok, Mark!"

At that moment, Alexander happened to barge into the back room. "Suilad...?"

Vaen immediately drew his weapon. "ELF!!!" he exlaimed.

"No, Vaen!" Mark exclaimed. "Not here, not now."

Vaen eased, and Alexander seemed confused, but left the room. Vaen and Mark exited shortly after and headed outside.

"Vaen..." Angel said. "Don't believe anything Mark has told you..."

Vaen groaned. "Where are the elves? They killed my parents."

Angel seemed confused. "Your Father is still alive, and your mother was not killed by Elves, Vaen."

Mark seem agitated. "Don't lie to him, Angel."

"I'm not lieing!!" Angel screamed.

Vaen glanced around.

"Look at your sword, Vaen. Look at it!" Angel said.

Vaen glanced at his sword.

"Who is it made by?" Angel asked.

"Fi..ral... Swiftar..." Vaen said.

"That is your father!" Angel said.

"That was made for him before his father was murdered." Mark said.

"But... it doesn't seem like an old sword..." Vaen muttered.

"Here," Azin Rosewind seemed to come out from the shadows, and was obviously listening to the conversation. She had with her a shadow wisp, "I have conjured up your Father's spirit."

Mark chuckled, and Vaen just looked at the spirit.

"Father...?"

"They are tricking you, Vaen!" Angel shouted.

"Father, is that you...?"

The spirit gave no response.

"How did you conjure him, Azin?" Vaen said.

"I just spoke your name and it came!"

"...Where is my mother?"

"ohh... I'm afraid the Elves did terrible things to her spirit."

Vaen seemed shocked. "What things?!"

"Things that would not allow her to exist in spirit form. She ceased to exist, forever."

Vaen seemed agitated. Something inside of him, however, didn't take what Azin was saying too seriously. He wasn't trusting her.

"How did you even summon my father? That spirit would do something... say something... react somehow if it were my father!"

"Vaen, come." Angel said. "I will show you where your father is."

Vaen nodded, wanting to figure this out. He was instructed to use the Sacred Journey spell by Alexander to go to Vaen's house. Vaen did this, and met Angel there. They entered Vaen's house, and Vaen's eyes were fixated on the ankh.

"Ohhh! Is that a magical ankh?!"

Angel shook her head, and then glanced around. "Does anything seem familiar? Go see if you can find your father in here." Vaen seemed too fixated on the Ankh, but nodded and looked around. Nothing was familiar, but there were signs that his father had just recently been there. He accepted the fact that his father was still alive, and that Mark and Azin were lieing to him.

"Show me a Magical Ankh!" Vaen said with a smile. Angel nodded, and took him to Luna, where she showed him the magical shrine in the throne room. Vaen walked up to it and touched it. As he touched it, a bright light shined down on him, and he was silent.

"Vaen..?"

Vaen turned around.

"Oh, hello Angel!"

Angel seemed confused.

"Vaen...?!?!"

Vaen nodded.

"You were expecting... what?"

She instantly wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tight.

"Woah there, glad to see you too!" Vaen said.

"Vaen, you were under the same influence Alexander was last night. You didn't know who I was, or who anyone was. And Azin and Mark they..."

"Woah, woah." Vaen said. "Slow down a little. Come, explain this to me at the house. I have to change out of these clothes."

Angel nodded, and the both of them then went back to Vaen's house. Angel explained to him what had happened, and Vaen nodded.

"Thank you for your help. We should go tell people of what has happened."

Angel nodded. And the two went back to Hanse's, where they found Silent Poet. They had explained to him what has happened. Poet then explained what he had tried to do with the Demon to help reanimate the dead, but not in an undead form, and how the experiment went wrong.

"So you have lost memory just like I have, and Alexander. Hrmm... Something is going on."

Vaen nodded.

Poet then said, "I have much work to do. Do try to tell as many people as you can, Vaen and Angel. Word must get out that the Demon is looking to feed off of people's memories."

Vaen and Angel nodded, and parted ways for the evening. "Had the Demon struck for its last time? How much longer til it's next feeding? Would it be after me again?" These questions filled Vaen's mind, but only time would tell. Only time would tell...
