Xandria and Cissa had known each other since childhood, their relationship tumultuous, Shade was often surrounded by their bickering one minute and silent friendship the next. Yet they had endured. Shade herself had only come to seek comfort in her friends for the past couple years and found them both enchanting and useful to her.

Their goals the same, they often fed off each other’s talents, each a useful part of their enormous puzzle. They could if need be wreak havoc, like a well oiled machine, provided Shade's wreck less behavior was contained by the other two. Xandria held the most power over Shade and really it was unknown as to why she was able to do this. The reckless girl was often unstoppable in her exploits. Xandria’s need for tact and caution was often lost on her. At times she would even manage to bring out the mischievous side of Narcissa herself, much to Xandria’s chagrin.

The toys had brought about a new era amongst them, each of them fulfilling a specific purpose in their creation. Ingenuity and creativity of design driving the three to often long and sleepless schedules. Shade was feeling tired and drained but the new toymaker project had become her masterpiece, it had brought meaning to her being something she had sought out in her lonely existance.

The newest doll needed a specific kind of thread that sapped away most of her strength, utilizing a skill Shade had kept well concealed that only a few new of. Her magery crude, yet an excellent swordswoman, and a budding skill in the finer arts of Necromancy this skill she had held quiet as it was indeed her strongest defense. The seamstress she had hired was the key to her; as the girl was able to weave the thread unobtrusively with her own two hands through the clothing of the dolls. These she called her infected dolls a new breed standing side by side with Xandria’s enhanced dolls. Cissa herself was working tirelessly on yet another prototype; however, it was still in its final prep stages.

The children that worked for Shade though enslaved, were well fed, and surprisingly taken care of with the highest level of comfort. Shade bore no ill will towards children in general, though some had died at the hands of a few rampaging demons that had broken free. The cost of sucess Shade had always felt a price that she would gladly sacrifice many lives for, even that of her own.

She had delivered the first doll, to young Athlon Isk for his sister, and though it was hard to be patient, she awaited eagerly the results of their efforts. She had completed yet another order as well for Clymene's child, even now it was being readied for delivery.

Yet the time had come to seek out the perfect child for her next doll, a large order was rumored to be in the works as Xandria had whispered in her ear one night of their soon to be patron. Shade had been suprised at who was going to place the order yet she happily envisioned a city overun with dolls, and a small smile twitched upon her lips. She needed a child for this doll, one that she could mass-produce. Perhaps someone trained in the arts of a ninja, a child who could replicate herself to distract enemies. This was indeed a crucial element. Shade steepled her fingers in front of her tapping them gently against her chin. Lost in thought, she decided it was time to set out in search once more.
