He is stronger than I remember him...

He could feel his muscles weaken with every move... his shriveled skin shifting with every maneuver, his hand slowly loosened its grip on the blade he held. Fatigue... something he had not been cursed with in months, now hitting him full-force...

Consequences.

Steel did everything he could to fight off his foe. Dan, when did you get so talented... It had been a long time since he had fought his old friend, but now... this new entity, "Jode," was making him stronger than he could ever imagine of this man.

Jode sprung up from his kneel, his war fork flying in at him from every direction. Finally, Steel felt his body give out, and his long-awaited downfall began to brew. The fork grazed his shoulder, then with a twist of the man's arm, was pushed clean into Steel's heart.

His heart... he knew what this meant, but it was too late... as the cold metal pierced his heart, he felt his body completely give out, totally paralyzed from the blow. He struggled to regain control of his body but his curse was overwhelming... Curse? He fell to his knees, wavering a moment, and collapsed forward, face-down.

His mind raced with thoughts of failure, all the things he had planned... all of his goals, his achievements, everything his life - and unlife - stood for... and now it was all for nothing.

And the last thing he ever felt was the fork splitting his spine at the neck.
