The Elvin dancer was quite good. In the soft glow of the tavern all had grown quiet as she stopped dancing to extend a graceful hand to the young man. He stared at her for a moment but shook his head emphatically. I am sorry, no; I cannot dance with you I am to be wed tomorrow. She smiled at him seeing the love in his eyes for his bride to be. Clearing his throat he said, but I would be honored if you would dance at our wedding. The elf pondered that for a moment and she motioned to him silently towards the door of the tavern. You wish to discuss payment for this? He asked. She nodded and smiled shyly. Grinning his heart bursting with excitement for the surprise he had in store for his young bride he stood and escorted the beautiful young elf to the door.
Do you speak? He asked as they stepped thru the doorway. She shook her head sadly and toyed nervously with her skirt. Well you dance beautifully my bride loves dancers. The Elf blushed furiously but joy lit up her young face. He chuckled to himself. If I weren’t so in love with my bride I would keep you sweet one. For a moment he thought he saw her eyes flash at the mention of love but pushed it aside as a silly notion.
The elf whirled about in a circle her skirts gracefully spinning with her and he laughed at the joy that rose up inside him. My name is Maurice young one I wish you could tell me yours. She stopped dancing instantly her back turned towards him. He thought he saw the muscles tighten with tension for a moment but as she turned a thoughtful expression lit up her face. She bit her lip and pointed behind him. Behind him stood a large willow tree. He looked at it then her, a light shining in his eyes. Willow? Your name is Willow? She did a happy jig with her feet as if to say yes to him and it was odd how it seemed he could understand what she was saying in her movements. Well Willow I shall pay you well. She grinned at him and beckoned him to follow her then with a lighthearted step began down the path. Eventually she came to an abrupt stop in the middle of the path and her head darted looking about. He caught up with her breathlessly. Where are we going, you know you shouldn’t roam about at night alone.
Her face contorted maliciously, the control she had managed for this eve snapped and she swung around to face him. He blinked in shock, confusion forming on his face. With a swift motion she slipped the dagger from her belt and sliced it down his arm. He backed away, his arm already burning with pain as the poison seeped quickly into his nervous system. Blood poured from his wound and began to fill his mouth so that he was choking and spitting blood a gurgling sound echoing from his throat. She danced around him gleefully but her movements were filled with dark meaning and he fell dead at last to the ground. She began to laugh and dipped her finger in a bit of the fresh poison filled blood, licking it with relish. She pulled out a sack and stuffed him unceremoniously into it. She grinned hoping that Cissa had managed to find the girl as promised and all would be ready.
She set off with new purpose down the path towards the Shrine of Chaos. Climbing the stairs she saw a beautiful figure clad in white, her blond hair crowning about her like a halo. She smiled in anticipation. The young maiden was chained to one of the pillars and tears ran softly down her cheeks. Cissa stood off to the side looking happy, obviously, she had drained away a bit of the girls fight as one of her hands was ungloved.
You look like the cat that has just stolen the cream Cissa. Cissa smirked, its always fun destroying young love Shade. One thing I am curious of though why such a ritual? Grinning Shade dumped her cargo to the ground and the bag opened revealing the face of the young woman’s future husband. The girl shrieked and horror filled screams filled her she strained against her bindings and Shade waved a hand muttering, releasing the young woman. You monster! MY love oh my love! She ran to the bloody bag filled with his corpse and pulled his head onto her lap. Blood began to seep into her dress and Shade smiled appreciatively. Foolish girl, don’t you see how love weakens you makes you do foolish things! Shades fury emanated about the shrine and you could feel the hate pulsing in the walls. Cissa looked at Shade knowingly but said not a word.
The poisoned blood seeped thru her dress and the young girl with a look of horror realized to late its toxic effects. Pain filling her she writhed a bit above her dead lover and fell dead on top of him. Shade smiled and said Cissa, she will never get that stain out; blood is so hard to get out of white.
Grinning happily she pulled out her dagger, cut thru the skin of the dead girl and filled a small vial with her blood. Then walking to the altar of the shrine she poured it on top. Cissa watched with curiosity. Take the blood of the lost bride in sacrafice. For the love lost, my loves lost.. The blood sizzled on the alter of blackrock a vapor rising up. The sadness overwhelming shade, grief eating at her she began to cry bloody tears, tears of blood dropping onto the alter. As her blood hit the alter, shade began to speak softly her words hardly recognizable some of them strange and unknown. An image rose up from her bloody tears. of a young green haired girl, her hair in pigtails and Shade reached up to touch it but alas it was only an image. Such good days... Cissa she whispered. Cissa looked at the image before Shade and light shone in her eyes. Is that you Shade as a young girl. Shades nodded, still overcome with grief she said, My father failed to teach me one thing, if I had it to do again I would. Strangely the image before her began to move on its own looking rather fleshy almost as if life flowed in it. Cissa watched what appeared to be a bit of Shades essence flow like a ghost between Nightshade and the image. Abruptly Nightshade turned and left the Shrine without a word the young image of Willow staring at her retreating form.
Cissa had a bad feeling about this, but she shrugged and kicked with glee the dead couple and watched them tumble down the stairs of the shrine snow quickly covering them. _________________ Something is Wrong, I can still feel Existence...

As Narcissa stood at the top of the stairs looking down at the happy couple she smirked and thought Love, what a troublesome emotion. She shrugged and walked away back toward the shrine. Thinking this was just like old times. As usual the events commenced with a simple note sent by Nightshade stating Lets have some fun.
As always the details of the Night’s events were elaborated on later usually in a dark place for a secret tryst.
The Bride was full of happiness and anticipation. Which now ran through Cissa’s veins. The woman’s emotions made her feel a bit reckless. Quite unusual for her. Cissa didn’t want this eve to be over just yet. She put her glove back on and began to write down the night’s evens into her journal.
An interesting turn of events.....still Cissa thought as she wrote. What exactly was that thing that rose from the shrine? .....a little girl......hmm....Nightshade’s childhood essence. She began to ponder as she wrote. Did that girl really rise from the shrine with Nightshade’s immortal blood? Or has it been following us since Nightshade’s return?
Once the entry was complete she replaced her journal into her robes. Surely the night isn’t over yet, this couple must have had loved ones, people who loved them, She thought. With that she grinned wickedly and rushed out of the shrine herself and tried to catch up to Nightshade. |
