Dan sat in the corner of the temple, away from his new peers and masters, in the cold dark corner of the dim temple walls around him. His face within his hands, and his hands on his knees, he sat quietly sobbing the events that had happened to him as well. He was there, he saw what he had did, and yet he could do nothing to prevent it. How could he have been so weak as to submit to this alter ego that developed from the powers of Oblivion imbued within his arm? And now, even if he had won this battle with his alter ego, could he even face his old friends now that he had betrayed them so?

...there was almost no hope...

...and as he continued to wallow in pity, a voice inside of him began to rise inside his mind.

"What are you doing?"

"Leave me alone"

"Ah, I see, you are being pathetic as usual. Try to keep it down will you? I am trying to rest. Killing your old friends can be such a hassle..."

"Shut your filthy mouth!"

"*laughing* Shut my mouth? I only have the courage to do what your pathetic morals prevented you from! You love to fight Dan, and you love to kill."

"Jode, you are nothing more than my weaknesses embodied."

"Well, your weakness just betrayed one of your closest friends. Your weakness just broke all ties that you had with your comrades. Do you remember the label that he spoke to me Dan? Do you remember the word that he spoke to you?"

"Traitor..."

"That is right, and that is what you are. Accept it, and move on. Regrets do us no good but to simply prevent us from moving onward. You know better."

"You only twist my logic to your own ends, monster."

"Do I?"

That question itself hesistated Dan's inner arguement with his alter ego. He did indeed love to duel and fight with all his heart, but was that really his heart holding those loves of combat or was it Jode, deep inside? So many questions, so many thoughts, and nothing could really help him. There had to be some way..."some way"...to perhaps seal Jode away out of his soul or at least out away in his mind. Until then, Jode was in control, and Jode indeed was making the situation worse by damning him from his very own past life.

"I hate you."

"...and I hate you."

Answers were out there, Dan knew, and those answers were to be sought out and exploited to banish this evil side of him within. Until then though, there was nothing that he could do, and he knew that he would have to find his own answers before looking for the ones he sought outside. Thus, the war within him continued.
