A rather large raven has delivered the following message:

"My Lady Ceinwyn Ab'arawn,

I am Thrax. My aide, Scaramandine, whom you met recently, has told me much about you and as such I am very much interested in our meeting.

He tells me you consider Papua your own. This we have in common. There is much more I would learn about Papua, of its people and rich history. Perhaps you could provide that to me?

I understand you have an affiliation with the Ebon Skull. That is, again, something we have in common. For many years I have considered the Skull partners in spreading a certain brand of philosophy throughout the realms. I have watched their activities closely, admired them, and helped them when I could, with what I could. You could be the perfect liaison between us.

He also tells me you are of the "elite immortals" as I call them. This intrigues me as well. I have had one very close association with such a person, and I would not mind establishing another with one such as yourself.

Please accept this as an invitation to my home, the Citadel of Blood, as it is called. You may choose the date and time. I would gladly receive you as my honored guest.

Walk in Darkness,

Lord Thrax"

Ceinwyn ab'Arawn was lost in the play of her sword, the fluid swings and slices she weaved as she danced on her training ground. So caught up was she, that as soon as she heard the flap of wing behind her she uttered a curse and turned, swinging her sword down in an arc, intended to kill the vampire bat that had intruded on her art. It was at the last second, a hair's breath from the intended victim, that she halted her blade, realizing that it was not a bat, but a very large raven.

In a liquid sweep of hand-movement, her sword was sheathed and she was receiving the raven.

A magnificent specimen

But from where did it hail? As she ran a hand down its silky back, she noticed the letter it clutched. She deftly removed the document from it's impressive talons, balancing the bird on her forearm. She eyed the raven quizzically, a silent inquiry. When no response was withcoming, she held her arm up to the snowman's arm, beside her. The raven took it's cue and hopped to the snowman's arm. She opened the letter and read it.

She went down to her room to write a response.

She affixed the letter to the raven's talon. Lifting the bird, she gave it a final appreciative gaze. A truly magnificent beast. Reluctantly, she held it up in her arms and let it take wing, watching as it flapped beyond her view, over the mountains.

She turned and drew her sword. Once more, she lost herself in the blurring motion of her sword, and her thoughts. Thoughts of the implication behind the name "Citadel of Blood". The very name of it made her feel like she had an invitation to Candyland.

Visions of red sugarplums danced giddily in her head.

Harbinger returned with the message to its master, who took it and read it carefully.

He smiled, clearly pleased with the reply. He sent the bird to find Scar to help him make preparations for her arrival, and to contact her personally.
