To all visitors of the city of Sanctus,

The following document is an explanation of all possible penalties of offenses, legal documents such as fines, and complaint reporting.

Violations such as riding a mount into an establishment, Public Drunkenness, Lewd Conduct, etc. are subject to a fine of 5,000 gold and/or a court summons

Misdemeanors such as Petit Larceny (any amount under 1000 gold), Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment, Menacing, etc, are subject to a fine of 10,000 gold, 15 days in prison, and/or a court summons.

Felonies such as Murder, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Arson, Robbery, Grand Larceny (any amount over 1000 gold), Practicing Necromancy, etc, are subject to imprisonment until their appropriate trial where the appropriate sentence shall be determined.

Fines: If you are issued a fine, you are to pay the amount indicated on or before day assigned on the fine. Failure to pay the fine by the date indicated shall result in an increase of the fine and/or issuance of a warrant for your arrest.

Court Summons: If you are issued a court summons, you are to appear before the Chief Justice or Lord Magistrate on or before the date indicated on the summons. Failure to appear to the courthouse shall result in an issuance of a warrant for your arrest.

Court Appearances: An appearance is where the defendant, the complainant (the one who issued you the summons), and witnesses appear in front of the Chief Justice or Lord Magistrate. After all sides have told their arguments, the Chief Justice or Lord Magistrate shall reach a verdict and determine the sentence. All appears shall be scheduled by the Chief Justice and take place at the Sanctus courthouse.

All fines and summons are copied and logged into a record. Only law enforcement officials and deputies may issue fines and summons. If a defendant loses a fine and/or summons, they may report to the Sanctus courthouse and receive another copy.

Complaint Report: If any person wishes to report a complaint, they are to see any law enforcement official or deputy. Once they see the appropriate person, their complaint shall be heard and documented it accordingly. The Chief Justice and/or Sheriff shall read over all complaints taken. After reading the complaint, the Chief Justice and/or Sheriff shall determine the next possible action. Anyone who reports a false complaint shall be subject to arrest for Obstruction of Justice and penalized accordingly.

Sanctus? Oh yes Sanctus, I have been there... Shakes her head and smirks. That sounds like no fun, no fun at all... Counts on her hands how many of the forbidden things she has done, and quickly runs out of fingers. hmmm and that is just in one day....

Xandria wandered by and saw the ripped notice on the ground. What's this? Looking at the notice, she began to read.

Public Drunkenness? Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Harassment, Menacing? I wonder if these apply to themselves as well? Smiling to herself, she read further, then stopped.

There it is, necromancy. She sat back, chuckling to herself. Well, at least when someone within that corrupt society does that, one actually gets punished.

Folding the poster neatly, Xandria set the paper in her pack and continued on her journey.

Keeping to the shadows as he so loved to do, young Abominox glimpsed upon the poster in Sanctus and read silently. Keeping himself hidden, he read every last offense.

After he finished the entire poster, he did everything he could to keep from laughing and revealing his presence. He attempted thrice to rip it from the wall.

Looking down at his hand in anger, he muttered to himself and looked again at the poster.

"Vas Flam."

Watching the poster disintegrate, he turned away and followed the edge of the building, careful to avoid being seen. A sudden epiphany made him want to have a little fun before he left. He snuck around to the back of the Hostel, where he saw people fighting in the stables. Slowly and carefully he crept past them, remaining completely unseen, into the woods.

He crouched slightly, and turned toward the men dueling. In his mind he went over two spells, and prepared himself. Almost chuckling to himself, he cast them, back-to-back, as quickly as he could.

"Kal Xen Bal Beh."
"Kal Ort Por."

Arriving at the stables she sees the poster and nods reading it. She walks around to the other side of the Inn and sees one torn down. She picks it up and retacks it up to the wall.

Such childish behavior of some that come through here. I will be on the watch and report any violations to the proper authorities. She nods to herself smiling. And if they need any help with inforcing these rules the House Gauntlet and the Royal Court is always available if needed. I will send a note to Sanctus.

She takes out a parchment, quill and ink after entering the Inn and sitting down. She writes a note to Sanctus letting them know that their rules are supported by their allies.
