Synful sat on her charger next to her sister and looked towards the cave,"are you sure we can do this?,"she said as Annawen nodded,"we have no choice....,"she said as she gripped her shield, the leather of her glove creaking sharply in protest,"we either fight him now or keep running...,"she said as she clasped her spellbook tightly in her other hand then looked to her cousin Sierra astride her nightmare Karma,"this must end now for us and our children...,"Sierra said as Bahamut growled softly in agreement behind her.
Giving her charger a gentle nudged she rode into the cave then looked to Annawen, who whispered softly,"In lor...,"giving the three of them the ability to see in the dark.
"Where do you think he is Syn?,"Sierra asked as her mare snorted angrily and started to prance,"not sure Sierra but you stay in the back..you're still recovering from the deliveryto be in the lead...,"she said as Sierra nodded her head and rubbed her stomach gently thinking of the four babies she had only given birth to a few days before. A soft sigh escaping her lips causing Anna to rein in her horse and look back to her cousin,"perhaps you should have stayed behind....,"Annawen said as Sierra narrowed her purple eyes,"nay..I am fine...I've not come this far to back out now...,"she said as Annawen nodded her head then looked to Syn who merely shrugged.
"And Arjuna calls me stubborn...,"Synful said as she once again urged her charger on,reaching down to her hip she slowly unsheathed her sword then looked over her shoulder to Sierra who did the same. Taking a deep breathe she dismounted from her charger and pressed herself against the wall,"Annawen invisi me please....,"she said as Annawen nodded her head,"An Lor Xen...,"she whispered softly, then cast it upon herself as well as Sierra and the huge dragon guarding Sierra with his life.
Synful stood against the wall watching as her father directed his orc minions, her rage was growing stronger and stronger by the moment. She knew that the three of them didn't face him now their torment would never end and their children would never be safe from his grasp as long as he was alive. The scene that lay before them, made her blood boil. Her father had already gathered, to his side, an army of orcs, trolls and ratmen. And was pressing them all into the industry of building a fortified lair.
As far as the eye could see across the main gallery of the cavern, they were busy hoisting up heavy timber frames, and stacking up rock walls, and tumbing in loads of stone debris into the gaps between the inner and outer walls, strengthening them. The sound of picks clinking and clicking filled the place. They were hewing access tunnels and exits, and even stones for the fortress walls, out of the sides of the cavern itself. Ratmen pushed carts loaded with stone, on makeshift tracks, disappearing down tunnels to gods' knew where. The heaviest stones and timbers were being hoisted into place by rope teams of trolls, under the command of orcs. And watching over it all, ...her father, so sure and calm like he was a peactime engineer overseeing the construction of an aquaduct. She seethed as she watched him, never had she wanted to kill him more.
Not being able to stop herself, she stepped forward towards the ledge's brink, incandescent with anger and hate. This man... NO! He wasn't a man, he was something vile, wretched, demented... and evil. This... thing... After all he had done to her and her sister in the past, before they had been able to break free.... and now he had managed to return and intrude once again into their lives. He had brutally taken from her, her own children... his grandchildren. He had tortured and defiled them like they weren't even human, killing them like he was throwing away toys he had grown bored with. By the gods he has to die!
She hears one of the ratmen below call out, and notices an orc, with a whip, turn in her direction. She stands there for a heartstopping moment looking down at the orc below, who clearly was looking directly back at her. She looks down at herself. Somehow the invisiblity charm had been broken. By her emotional state? No way to know now. Before she can step back from the ledge and out of sight, she sees that her father has turned to look as well. But his eyes... they were not filled with disdain or hate, they were merely amused... Her wrath foamed within her, "He MUST suffer! For all that he has wrought!"
"Synful....,"Annawen said as she appeared behind her sister,"he knows we are here Anna...,"she said as Anna nodded her head,"Kal Vas Xen Corp...,"she whispered as a demon named Marbas appeared beside her,"guard me my pet...,"she said as he growled and moved infront of her.She could feel the tension in the air just from her sister and her cousin who was standing back speaking softly to her huge white wyrm Bahamut.
Annawen looked to Marbas, when she was sure she had his attention, she turned and pointed down at all the orcs, ratmen and trolls that were dropping whatever they were doing and surging forward towards her and her sisters, "Marbas! Kill!" The summoned demon smirked around his canines, then jumped down and immediatelly set into the creatures. Calling down flamestrikes, curses, and energy bolts, all the while hitting and grabbing and throwing.
Sierra stepped forward to stand at the ledge and called to Bahamut. He stepped forward out of the shadows of the side cavern, and gripped the overhang of the ledge with his foreclaws, rearing his head while flexing his wings, he let out a bloodcurdling roar. A lot of the enemy below stopped in their tracks for a moment, staring up at Bahamut, he didn't give them time to decide exactly what to do. He flew down and landed amongst them, and started raking his claws through the groups of them, throwing and slinging them to either side. Slashing his deadly tail around killing enemies with ground-shuddering strikes. As they started to run from him, he would roar at their fleeing and they would be struck down by energy bolts and explosions.
Annawen pointing her finger down to the right of Bahamut and Marbas, and said forcibly, "Vas Corp Por!" An energy vortex appeared just where she had pointed and started burning all the orcs and trolls around it with energy spells. She looked down to the ground right below the ledge and whispered, "Vas Rel Por." The three of them stepped down through the gate. She dispelled the gate, and stepped forward towards where her father's small army surged around Bahamut and her two summoned creatures. Sierra stepped to her right, wielding her shield and radiant scimitar. Synful stepped to Annawen's left, wielding her elven runeblades, which glowed with a strange crimson light.
"It is time..,"Synful said as she looked to Sierra who called Bahamut to her, hearing the soft growls of the massive beast Synful smirked and stepped up infront of him watching as her father moved towards them slinging orcs, trolls and ratmen out of his path.
"Perhaps I misjudged you three....or perhaps you three wish to meet your death sooner than I expected...,"he said as he stopped infront of them, watching as Annawen moved to Synful's left and Sierra stepped to the right,"Or perhaps the three of us together are stronger than you expected....you do seem alittle nervous...,"Annawen said as she glared at him,Marbas still alive moving to her side.
While looking at the three of them, he smiles. The smile is almost kindly, but his cold eyes ruin the effect. He stands there... waiting... Syn, her eyes burning, and expression grim, starts,"Never again will you touch me or my sister..you will never leave these caverns....and even if you do, you won't get far--" When she started to speak he smiled a little more and nodded his head once, like a father might in a "That's, nice dear" manner but then looked casually at Annawen, then at Sierra, showing no notice that Syn was speaking to him. He looked over at Marbas, then at Bahamut, a quizzical expression coming to his face, that he might be wondering what strategy was best to try and handle the beasts. Syn was still talking, but he took no notice, just started gesturing and shouting, "An Ex--" But Annawen had been watching him and realized what he would try, and shouted faster, "In Nox!" He turned to her, as his spell fizzled, looking for all the world like a disappointed child.
Synful, almost incandescent with rage steps forward yelling, "Consecrus Arma!" Twisting, she makes a speed-blurred downward slash at his chest with the runeblade in her right hand. He jumps to his left just in time, while casting Cure upon himself.
Outside the entrance to the caverns, Ashigaru paces back and forth. Near by him Synful's husband Arjuna, talks to the dwarf named Rocke. "Hoping to get lighter patrol duties soon. It's putting a lot of stress on things..." Rocke nods. Ashigaru stops and stares at them. His tokunoan accent heavy, "Baka! How can you two sit there and... talk?" They look at him, Rocke says, "You think I wouldn't rather be in there? Sierra's a capable warrior and woman, but... she's my..." he looks off and gestures with an open hand, as if that answered it. "Ashi, I gave her my fecking word! I made sure I went with her as she trained up Bahamut, I tried to make it as clear as I could to him, that failing to protect her was not an option he should consider" he rubs his beard. Arjuna pushes another prayer bead forward with his thumb and whispers softly a private prayer again.
