You didn't actually say this. Furthermore, you didn't actually say FF13 is better than Crysis. |

FF13 is horrible from what Ive heard: Linear and predictable... but you know what, I'm probably going to buy it just because it is FF |

Okay? I was just stating that Crysis still probably has some of the best graphics, but that's on the PC anyway so that doesn't really count. And I do think FF13 is better than Crysis, I didn't like that game at all, I thought it was only nice to look at. Am I not allowed to have an opinion? And of course people do like that game, I was just teasing, sorry if I offended you.
And Isk, the game is only linear halfway through, then it really opens up. In fact, just about every FF is fairly linear. I don't see why anyone is surprised by linearity in a FF. It's not horrible... you should look at reviews and what people are saying. Most people like it. They say it's not the best one, but it's still great.
It's just funny how most FF fans hate FF and complain about them constantly. They expect perfection. *shrugs* |

Duders. FFIX is one of my favorites. Great story, amazing characters, decent combat and NO LAME J-POP HEROES WHO LOOK LIKE THEY WERE LOST IN SOME ANIME.
*coughs slightly*
While I love the bleached blond surfer look or DARK HERO WITH SWORD character type, the characters in FFIX were more human than any in recent memory.
Anywho, with FFXIII, I will let you know when I get to that halfway mark so I can give some better incite on the game's qualities outside of the linear hell that I am trapped in. Until then, I continue to walk up hill.
FYI, someone just screamed loudly and vomited outside of my house. Living in the city rules. |

That's just the thing. If the game requires slogging through it to get to the enjoyable part, why have the boring part in it? Why not just have all fun parts? Rhetorical question, I know why developers do it, it just is silly and really highlights the current market trend of expecting X number of gameplay hours instead of solid fun gameplay. Sonic Unleashed is a decent example of this, I've heard several accounts that the Sonic stages are actually fun. But the game would be too short if it was just Sonic stages, so they had to pad it out with boring and slow werehog stages. |

I've been enjoying FFXIII since the second I put it in. The beginning cinematic is one of the best I've ever seen in a game. And linear for awhile? Who cares if everything else is great. Also, the linearity for awhile makes sense for the story. Without any spoilers, it would just be stupid for them to be able to run around big open maps at first and explore townz.
People just expect too much from any kind of digital entertainment these days. No one is satisfied, there's always SOMETHING wrong with EVERYTHING. |

I only expect a good storyline and fun. The graphics, music, etc elements of the game are really unimportant to me. Though, they are pretty spiffy and I gave it that from the beginning. |

I guess I'm the only one that really liked FFIX =/
I loved that game. I kind of want to play it now. |

I haven't bought FF XIII, and not quite sure if I will. I might just wait a few months and buy it used cheap.
FF VII was the best of the series, hands down. That also might be because I played it during my more formative years and cried when, well, you know the part. It would have been more traumatic had I not renamed her CRACKWHOR (couldn't fit the E) on my first play through (this was the first PS game I owned, didn't know what to expect, so was just screwing around).
FF VIII I enjoyed a lot as well, and for awhile thought it was the best in the series. But in retrospect, FF VII is just better. I disliked IX greatly. I could not get into X enough to even be bothered to play it through to the end. The story is just so disjointed and at times convoluted that I found myself saying "screw this" and turning my console off. I didn't find the whole sphere grid thing appealing, nor was the combat particularly engaging.
FF VI and IV (I think it's IV, the one for the SNES that was't VI and had the twins that turn themselves to stone, so sad!) round out the top 3 FF games for me. FF II blew. FF XI doesn't really count as it was a MMORPG and seems like it was designed for masochists. FF Tactics for the PS was pretty fun, and I liked the dark atmosphere. FF Tactics for the GB was addictive, but I hated the bright colors and over-the-top atmosphere. So lame that they based FFXII on this world. I couldn't bring myself to play through all of XII either. Both X and XII are sitting on my shelf collecting dust.
I did find FF XIII's advertising one-liner intriguing, though. Would you save a world that doesn't want you in it?
Sounds emo in a neat way.
Ok I typed way more than I thought I did. Away I go! _________________ Sometimes you must lose yourself before you can find yourself. |

Am I the only one who liked FFX? Sure FFX2 sucked, but the first one definitely had me crying. _________________ (4:45:41 PM) Jarem: It becomes increasingly difficult to feel noble in my causes when my cause is to defend my charge from her own violent tendencies. |

FFX is my favorite, next to FFVII. I can't decide. Point being, I absolutely LOVED FFX. I loved the story, the characters, the world, the gameplay, everything. Also one of the best soundtracks in the series. Definitely an emotional story that really pulled me in. FFXIII is a lot like that, with focus on story and the characters and their struggles. If you liked FFX, there's no reason you shouldn't like FFXIII.
And X-2 was fun at least (combat)... but yeah the story and the characters... er... kind of a joke. And the music made my ears bleed. |

Edit: saw the new FF looking at me through Walmart glass earlier. Tempted but resisted the urge.

Am I really the only person who laughed at this part? I was so grateful to get rid of her, she was boring and useless to me. At least her death was a pwnsome cinematic. |
