Hi everyone ,

There is a possibility that in the transition to KR some of the shard historical sites will be lost. The possibility is greater still that some of the blessed houses & establishments will not be successfully moved over.

Therefore, Stratics, as a group, is beginning documentation of the shards historical sites and unique locations as they exist on the shards in the legacy client. What they have in mind is a database of each shards unique blessed establishments, unique fairgrounds, special features, and monuments with screen shots and whatever written histories that can be gather on these spots, including screen shots from BOTH the 2D and 3D current clients. The resulting website pages would be accessible from the general database on Stratics .

Over the last 10 years , many things were added to the shard by GM's in many different manners of coding. There is no guarantee the new client will read some of these changes and these things may get lost in the transition. EA is trying to find and code as many as they can.. but thats a lot of history to go back over and if the new client cannot read the script.. well.. its gone. . Should the coding not read and these things are lost , it would be nice to have a record of these things with screenshots for old and new players alike to see.
So what better place and people to ask then the Roleplay Community about these places and the history of where, what and why they came to be.
If anyone has a unique spot, info on a historical establishment or wishes to write up something and/or take screenshots about their unique item/ establishment/ history, please let me know. I will pass on any info we gather to Stratics with your name credited for them to add to the database. Molly and I are working on setting something up here and making sure as many of these places are recorded and looked at by EA to hopefully be saved for future generations of players. Molly is also working with the current librarian of Goodman's to see what all they still have of the old runes once held by Leiah's Rune Library that Goodman worked with.

So all you old timers and new ones alike.. time for a stroll down memory lane.....

There is a post on Stratics that lists many of the establishments.. some have no info or have missing/old links so if you know of some of these or info on the current status or runes to these places please let us know!

Many things have unfortunately become unblessed over the last several years. I for one terribly miss the Atlantic Mage Tower.

I have all the areas personally documented and can contribute a post with screenshots and co ordinates to supplement Nika's if need be.

The real test will be when the Kingdom Reborn client enters beta, at which time we will be able to see if our current blessed establishments and locations are fully included.

I'm confused what this Kingdom Reborn thing is?

I guess I shall try to go see or something, but if someone has a link that'd be neat! Just wondering why it's going to ruin things when no other UO expansion did.

I feel bad for you guys, though. Things, and probably a lot, are going to be lost due to the continuous laziness and lack of foresight of the Developers =/ .

The Kingdom Reborn is not just going be an expansion, it is going to be a completely new release that for the players will be considered an expantion but an entirely new client will be released to you. Some things are just not going to easily translate to the new format.

They will (if they know about them) Make those adjustments but it has been nearly 10 years and many employee as well as player base changes since History began on the shard.

They have asked us to gather information and item identifications as well as special locations and their blessings so they can recreate them so we may continue to use them in our roleplay.

This is the first time that I know of that the UO powers that be have EVER asked US the players for our input and information for ROLEPLAY and SEER locations and ITEMS exclusive to the Atlantic Shard. We have lost places like the Atlantic Mage Tower and other special historical places over the years and They are finally recognizing that their Roleplayer base is what pays the bills, that the kids that come for a little while and disapear are not the ones they should use to aim their focus.
