Duke Kaldhel made his plea before the Regency for assistance. The forum of leaders sat stoically in their Serpent Hold Fortress, separated from the world and its toils politely listening to his request. The linage of the House of the Gauntlet that the Duke represented was directly linked to this auspicious group but it had separated many years prior as differences of opinions and ideas of how and who would govern ran through the houses of the lands. The House of the Gauntlet’s seat and its long separation from the Feudal Body of Houses seemed to have created a battlement to high to overcome within the room. Duke Kaldhel’s words, weighted by his own turmoil, fell flatly in the ears of the assembly like a rock tossed into a mud pit. His need and desire was to save the life of his betrothed and the Regency’s control of the shrine of the Virtues seemed to be adding even more height to that battlement with each word. Lord Kaldhel’s only desire was for the people of Britain’s glorious Feudal Lords to come to his aid. As it was, most of the body august Lords did not even acknowledge his request. He looked across the book and scroll laden table and into each face. Most blankly stared back, some smirked a few smiled, but some even had what might have been considered contempt for presenting such a request to their leadership. The Duchess’s life held by but a string and most of the group seemed to be looking for scissors.

Directly requesting assistance from the priest Bartholomew was more useful though. The priest in his flowing robes stepped out to speak with the Duke after the meeting and asked if could be kept informed and would provide what assistance he was able. The House of the Gauntlet had many people coming to their aid, researching, providing services, and giving their well wishes. Much of the assistance provided would never be able to be repaid and people like Bartholomew would garner a respect from the house for many years to come.

Now with at least some tepid response from the governing body of the land the Duke wished he could just find the last piece of the puzzle that would remove the curse and return his wife to him before it was to late.

"shihan-san, do you choose to block my entrance to this room?" and he stepped back and said, "Emperor, only a fool would fight you in a room this small."
