She lay in bed fevered barely able to move...no food or water for the past two days and no sign of Kel. She didn't have the strength to even cast the simplest of magical spells to aid herself and create sustanance.
She could only sleep a little bit at a time. The chills would wake her every few hours. The few hours she did sleep she did not sleep well. The keep was empty and dark it was not inviting alone and in this state. Her thoughts drifted back to her beloved, "Where are you my love?", she mouthed as the she lay in the bed.
Closing her eyes again she drifted into a haunted state of sleep hoping he would return soon. If this keeps up she may not be able to hold on much longer. |

Looking down upon the troubled woman, the spirit of Jode Bonewits watched the woman in her miserable state. As she shivered within her bed from the chills in her chamber, his spirit felt nothing. Still though, there was something about this woman, something that he was drawn to. Reasons unknown, Jode could but only watch as she slowly closed her eyes to what would appear to be a resting state.
The netherworld was a very lonesome place for all the spirits whom which occupied it, yet the burning in his back from that very dagger wound left Jode with the strength of conviction and revenge to hold onto what humanity and willpower to press onwards in his constant turmoil of death. Perhaps he could could still speak to her though, perhaps there may be some way in which he could communicate with the only woman who ever made the attempt to understand him.
Gently, he laid his hand upon her brow, in hopes to find himself within whatever dreams she may be experiencing. He had to try, for what did he have to lose? _________________ AKA: Dan |

She awoke a little still fevered and almost delerious. As her green eyes opened slightly, she tried to focus.
"Kel", she said quietly. There was no answer just the dark and the slight breeze from the open area in the bedroom. She swore she felt something or someone there. Was it her fever, is her mind playing tricks on her?
Carefully she tried to gather her strength and sit up. It was to no avail she could not do so, and fell back in the bed. She needed medicine or something. She had to get to the palace and soon, this fever was not breaking and it was getting worse.
From the corner of her eye she swore she saw a man there and reached up weakly. and whispered , "help." Her hand fell and she passed back out into a fevered sleep... |

Jode stepped back as, or so it seemed, Ishtar had used the last of her strength to fight off the fever. For some reason, it would have seemed almost as if she had seen him, but that couldn't be possible unless she herself truly did possess powers exceeding Jode's own exaggeratory beliefs. Kneeling down, as her hand fell back upon the bed from which she layed, almost sprawled out upon from the pressing fever on her mind, he again closed his eyes and attempted to enter her dreams so that perhaps he could help her in some way.
As his slinder spirit fingers touched her brow, he could feel himself drift into another state of conscience, in which he himself left behind the control of his body to where it would remain posed as he had it, so that he may try to hold a sturdy link to this woman's psyche.
Taking a dive into her mental realm, Jode saw many images before his eyes before he could find a solid layer within her mind to land upon. Her sister, a drow, her own mind's version of the god which she worshipped, and in the end he himself as he finally found a spot to land. The colors around himself were of pale orange, and as he made his steps outward in search of the fever he could not help but notice that he would definitely have had been detected by the priestess. With that thought, he slightly grinned to himself as though it came to him as no surprise at all.
And so, Jode began his search, leaving his tracks where he would. _________________ AKA: Dan |

Almost dream like at dawn the next day she awoke. Her hair tangled from the fever and her tossing and turning. She carefully looked around the room and scanned it, trying to focus. "I know I saw him.", she said to herself.
She placed a hand on her brow. Her head was pounding, but it seemed the fever had gone, at least for now. Carefully she sat up in the bed almost surprised that she didn't feel weakened. With a slight smile and some urging made by a growling in her tummy she tried to cast a spell. Her smile grew, she had food and water. Knowing her body had been deprived of nutrients for a few days she was careful to take small bites and just sip the water.
After eating the headache seemed to subside, but something was different very different. "Where had Kel gone.? Why do I feel a presence?", she shook her head at the thoughts , it was too much to comprehend.
Looking at herself, she frowned a little and decided to change her gown and wash her face. Looking at a lock of her hair it needed to be brushed through badly. One foot at a time she placed them on the cool stone of the keep and stood up. Opening the armoire where Kel kept clothes for her she pulled out a new linen gown, soap and a brush. Slowly she walked across the room to the wash basin whish she filled and found the soft cloth resting on it.
She paused for a moment as if she heard footsteps, "Kel?" her voice echoed on the walls. She shook her head again closing her eyes and in her mind she saw another man she spoke with often who seemed too have disappeared, "Jode?" Again she shook her head. It couldn't be, but she saw his face. Too many thoughts went through her head.
With a bit of determination she shrugged them off and set to her task dropping her worn linen gown to stone floor she slowly got the soap and cloth and got herself cleaned up. Feeling a bit more awake she washer her hair and face and changed into fresh clothes.
Picking up her brush she started to fixing her raven colored locks and walked back to the bed.
After a bit it was finally back to its normal texture and this time she plaited it into a braid. Too tired to do more she put her brush n top of the armoir and snuggled back into the soft sheets of the bed. This time though her dreams may reveal more than she wished. |

Feeling the rays of the sun on her face, she blinked a little and then opened her eyes fully. The fever was gone and she felt refreshed witht eh exception of a slight headache. She rolled over and was overjoyed to see Kel sitting on the bed looking over her.
"I am sorry I was away." , he said to her.
She moved closer and hugged him tightly, "I missed you and was so sick."
He looked down at her and shook his head, "I should have been here."
"You are here now and everyhting is all right.", she leaned up to kiss him and then smiled.
Kel helped her out of bed and she saw he left her fresh clothes and some food and water. Politely he excused himself while she changed and ate some of the fruit he left for her.
Rubbing her eyes a little she made her way downstairs and found him sitting in a chair with frown on his face. He looked at her, "I should get you to your sister so she does not think the worst."
She nodded and the pair carefully made their way to the Palace. All the way in the back of her mind she still felt that odd presence and thought there was still something amiss. |
