Marcus slammed the door behind him as he entered his room exhausted from his time in Destard and covered head to toe in ash to beat it all. He never knew there was a cave full of Dragons till now and wished he had never been sent to the foul place but his master gave him a job to do and that he did. Luckily most of the beasts where busy chasing other mages and warriors around for them to notice a mage going through there treasure chest. He still couldnt believe that warriors and mages in this realm hunted Dragons for sport but that was besides the point. The gem of sorrow was now his.
He made his way to his desk and sat down taking out his pouch on the inside of his robe he undid the string and opened the pouch. He then took the gem out of his pocket and held it up to look at it.. A Green glowing Emerald it was, he could feel the power of it seep out almost. Grief, Sorrow, Pain, suffering all traits that one felt when holding the gem. A nomral man would cringe and fall to the floor crying like a baby when holding the stone but Marcus was no normal man. He just looked at the stone and laughed and then placed it in his pouch. He then went towards the chest near his bed took out a towel and began wiping the ash from his face and hands. He then grabed a clean robe placed it on the bed and began to undress. After putting on the clean robe and putting his pouch in his pocket he laid down on his bed and closed his eyes..After awhile he drifted off to sleep this time sleep with a dream almost. He dreamt of a ring with a blue gem in its center on the hands of an elven maiden. He realized at once this gem was the next key, but he did not recongize the maiden wearing the ring. His last image was of the ring again before the dream faded and he drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
Meanwhile in Moonglow Alec Leonhart had just arrived in the City and was checking the Inn. The innkeeper had told him that no elf fitting the description he gave came into the inn in the last few days. Alec then tried the bank and to no avail got the same answer. He then went to the docks and talked to the Harbor master who told him he remembered a ship with an elf coming into the harbor on the night in question but did not see where he went. Alec sighed then returned to the bank and gave the banker a letter to give to the elf if he saw him. He then returned to the Inn and gave the innkeeper the same type of letter. Alec then left the inn and made his way outsid of town limits to where he had put his horse. Once there he got on his Horse and made his way towards the moongate. He had to get to Malas to see about a piece of land he had bought. He only hoped his friend was still somewhere in Moonglow or near by and that he would get the letters he left. Alec just hoped the item his friend had was safe. For if not there could be trouble coming to the land. |
